Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 Maruti Dzire AMT. A few days back while driving on the highway, the AMT / automatic gearbox warning light appeared on the speedometer. There was no jerking, no power loss, no gear problem — car was driving completely normal.

I took the car to 3 different service centers and all of them told me the same thing:

  • Scanner shows “Accumulator fault” in past history
  • Currently no active fault
  • Car is working normally
  • They said if the warning comes again while driving, come immediately so they can check it live

Right now the car is behaving perfectly in city area.

However, I have a 6–7 hour highway trip to Udaipur in January (2 days trip: 16th–17th Jan) and I’m a little worried.

So I wanted to ask owners / technicians here:

  • Has anyone faced a similar AMT accumulator warning?
  • Did it turn serious suddenly or give repeated symptoms first?
  • Is it generally safe to do a long highway drive if there’s no active fault right now?

Plan is to get the car scanned once again a few days before the trip.

Any real experiences or guidance would really help 🙏

  • Generally speaking it's not safe to drive it on the highway. Because if the error causes the gearbox to lock up it'll be a nightmare to tow it back.

If the error comes while you drive locally next 20 days you should be able to get it fixed. Otherwise just assume it's a false random alarm and go your merry way.

Thanks a lot for your opinion but to see whether that sign is showing up on speedometer will occur only if I drive on highways so in city areas it won't show up.

  • Have you changed the AGS / Actuator Oil ? If not might be old oil causing issue

I asked the mechanic but they told me that unless and until that sign doesn't show up we can't come to any conclusion. Only 1st mechanic told me that there is some issue with the actuator as show in the error code in the past history not current. But what do you recommend should I change the AGS/ Actuator Oil?

And car running is only 24,000 Kms till date.
