I’m not saying I want someone to get hurt, but if Cabrera has some Tommy John issues after about 2 starts(one great start against not us to get the fans hopes up, and one 4ERA game due to problems) and the cubs gave up their number 1 and 11 prospect. I’d smile.
He probably will be to some extent, though the profile's different. The chances he comes good in the big leagues with that high of K rates in the minor leagues aren't high.
Hate to admit, but the Cubs got a pretty good rotation now with Cabrera and Steele coming back. Maybe don’t have an “ace”, but if Horton does what he did in the second half he could become that.
3 years of Cabrera. They addressed the bullpen too. If they get a 3B piece it’ll have been a good offseason for them. Though, I picked them to win the division last year. They are going for it during our rebuild, as they should. I was hoping for incompetence.
I’m still not amazed with their lineup if I’m honest especially without Tucker. Busch is really good, Suzuki is good too, but then there’s PCA who had 2 great months and other than that he was pretty shit offensively. They have guys like Swanson and Hoerner who aren’t great hitters that field well (Hoerner to be fair is a decent contact guy but has 0 pop). Happ is kind of a wild card. If they get Bregman tho that probably makes them the team to beat in the NLC because I still don’t see “that” bat in their lineup unless PCA can become what he was for about two months.
PCA isnt going to be this generational super star Cubs fans think. Yeah he is fast & plays good defense. But he was so hot & cold. PCA's ceiling is above avg player, not generational superstar.
At the same time, they also have very clean books. Swanson is their only guarantee after this season. Adding a FA 3B wouldn't do much harm to them either.
One of them involved plinko and trivia. You both play together for a bit and then your partner has to answer questions in a quiet room while you win/lose money outside playing plinko. The partner is given an offer at the end to take or tear up.
The episode I watched saw the wife of a poor family get offered $190k. Her husband went off on the Plinko board with $1,000,000, but she had no idea.
She almost signed for the $190k, but tore it up and when he told her they won $1,000,000, she almost passed out lol
There’s a little more to it than that, but we went from being casual viewers to screaming and cheering. I recognized the host from somewhere. Chris Hardwick or something like that. I think he had a show on Comedy Central years ago.

Eh. People put way too much value in prospects. For all we know, Caissie is the next Dylan Carlson.

Never root for injuries in this sport
Looks like tomorrow is an off day, too.
(I can keep this joke going).
Happy National Pass Gas Day! Finally a day you all are over-qualified for. Yes that’s a preposition at the end, why don’t you go fart about it?
BA just dropped the new top 30 prospect lists. I guess I know what I'll be doing this afternoon and evening.
I think everyone agrees on who the #1 is lol

Ivan can take them

The farms over in Iowa and Knoxville have looked better, but that’s what it takes to trade for guys like Tucker and Cabrera.
True. Cabrera was a necessary add because they've got dick for higher-end pitching in the farm near or about the big leagues.
Sat down and watched game shows last night for the first time in my life. Not going to lie, that stuff is addicting.
Which ones?

Chris Hardwick was indeed on Comedy Central. IIRC his show replaced the Colbert Report when Steven left for CBS.
