Which are illegal almost everywhere, but landlords are constantly trying to dupe tenants with this scheme.
Not only do tenants serve as a bank, giving them funds upfront, but landlords who do this don’t intend on giving the funds back. They fabricate damages and then tenants have to take them to the landlord-tenant board to get the money back.
Yup so I don't understand the bitching tenants have. Stop moving around and pay your rent on time and you won't be affected by any inflationary housing factors like landlords do since your housing costs are artificially capped and you're insulated from reality courtesy of your government.
Some tenants are so entitled they actually think they still have it hard. Spend less than you make. If you can't do that, then find ways to earn more. The concept isn't difficult to grasp. Otherwise, Bitch at your governments for taxing you too much and not advocate for more governments.
During covid my landlord applied for a 35% above guidelines rent increase, they were only approved for 12%, I was already paying 90% of my fixed income on rent, so I just became homeless
You are human scum this is not hyperbole, your life has no value for any other human being and the world would be a better place without you
Just giving an upvote for all the incoming down votes. Canadians dont like to face the facts but it's true. Many bitch about not being able to own but I tell them all the time..."you struggle with rent, your bills are not going down when you purchase".
Renters are paying for maintenance and repairs through LLs and rental companies doing AGI every year. Our building, a purpose built rental, has hired a paralegal every year because the management comes with a 5 percent or higher AGI we have to fight.
We got it down to 3.2 this year. Even though all they did was paint the stairwells and add a gate to the outdoor parking.
Why are renters paying for “maintenance and repairs”? Not your property not your problem.
My assumption would be damage deposit

By almost anywhere I think you mean Ontario and Quebec. They are permitted in basically every other province with each having their own rules on this.
Renters don’t have maintenance
Yeah. I call BS on this data
Lightbulbs, I guess?
😂😂
can't speak for other provinces but the vast majority of units in ontario are capped at 2.5% increase for the year

Renters dont pay maintenance... Rent is all included except utilities, in some cases that is shared too
