Hey everyone, I’m looking for a lightweight, preferably mirrorless (ideally full-frame) camera that I can carry around easily for street and portrait photography.
Here’s what I’ve been considering so far: • Leica D-Lux 8 • Fujifilm X100VI • Sony A7 series • Panasonic Lumix S9 • Nikon (open to suggestions)
I really like the film simulations / presets that Fujifilm and Leica offer — I prefer something that gives great colors straight out of camera.
My main priorities: • Compact and travel-friendly • Beautiful SOOC color / presets • Great for both street and portraits • Doesn’t age quickly (something I can keep for years without feeling outdated)
Would love to hear from anyone who has experience with these cameras or can recommend something that fits the same criteria!
Recommend A7C.
This
Or even better a7cii if in the budget
At least if you want small FF mirorless then it's the best option
Panasonic s9 doesn't have mechanical shutter and have slow sensor (it's the sensor from a7iii) so flickering light and fast movement in the frame can make the photo unpresentable
There are some older small Sigma mirorless but they had similar problems and additional they had really bad AF
Btw - in Sony you have picture profile menu where you can tweak your jpeg look to what you want - there are even recipes to match the look of fuji presets
The Sony creative looks are nowhere near as good as Fuji’s film simulations. Don’t get a Sony if you hate post processing.
Sounds like you need a Fuji. Go with the X100VI for sure. If you don't mind doing your own processing, I would recommend a Nikon for the value. Recently picked up a used Z6ii for under $1K, and I couldn't be happier. She's kinda bulky & heavy though. Definitely not a pocket camera.
Those are wildly different sizes.
If you want compact do NOT get a full frame. It sounds like what you really want is the Fuji X100VI.
