Remember earlier in the season when Oregon had so much depth at RB that Makhi Hughes, the Tulane transfer, couldn't even get playing time? Seems like a whole season ago now
It kind of pisses me off that everyone is entering the portal right now. It's not really their fault. It's the idiots that came up with these timelines
ya getting fucked on the transfer portal for 2026 season is already punishment enough (like not being able to focus on it now while you're still playing and losing guys after the season). But losing guys now is just double fucked
The championship game should be played on Jan 3 after all of the bowl games, like it was before.
Do the first round right after CCGs, second round right before Christmas, and the natty the 3rd. Portal opens up the next day. Everyone gets one transfer unless your coach leaves.
Jayden Limar must’ve felt burned by Oregon’s coaching staff which is why he entered the transfer portal when he did, after the Orange Bowl knowing the injuries incurred and, unlike Harris, isn’t available even though he’s yet to sign elsewhere.
Limar is a punk who tried to use the injury situation to squeeze some money. He was told to fuck off by Lanning for what he tried to pull. No respect for that guy whatsoever.
The other transfers were before the depth issues came about, and made sense at the time. Limar was trying to be opportunistic and it bit him in the ass.
A week ago we had one of the deepest RB rooms in the country, a week ago if Noah & Davison were out I'd concerned but not meltdown levels.
A week later we're having to move defenders to RB and they will likely see a significant amount of playing time in a fucking CFP semifinal game.
I swear to god if I see any braindead fuck trying to run off with the "Oh you guys are just making excuses, its not that big of an issue!" like certain fanbases did with the month off last year ima fully fucking crashout
There is no reason we don't just do a 2 RB backfield like normal teams at this point, and only if one of noah/dierre goes down do those two see playing time. If we play all 4 I feel like we beat ourselves
Yeah, that's my concern as friend of a friend sort of info I heard is Noah isn't sick, he's dealing with turf toe and could not be seeing the field today.
I hope I am wrong and hope a buddy lied to me, but well as an Oregon fan I have been trained to expect the absolute worst things to happen to us lmao
Isn't the word that Harris is following Stein to Kentucky? That may be a critical difference if he's following the OC. Makes sense he'd be available in that case. Lanning is probably much more okay with playing a transfer in that situation as opposed to a mercenary going to a separate 3rd program.
Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Jay Harris, YOU get 15 carries tonight.
Honestly, he's probably looking at it like, "sure I want to play more in general so I need to look elsewhere, but this might be the coolest thing I'll ever do so fuck it"
From what I've been told, there was a huge difference in how the two players handled the situation. Limar more or less burned his bridges with his approach.
1200 yds and 24 td his junior year i think (not that HS stats are terribly relevant at all). hassanritter also used to be an RB for us and got some carries in a couple spring games.
I have a CFB dynasty where it puts a DT in as my wildcat QB (not on purpose, but I refuse to change it), it works really well. So AW at RB should work just fine I think
Yeah, we're all nervous, but so much of that is because we know how good each other's teams are.
I mean, Lanning's a damn good coach, and your defense took it to Texas Tech. Of all the outcomes I envisioned, a shutout was not one of them.
Plus, I remember October's game. Good God.
This is going to be one hell of a matchup, but people on both sides are justifiably nervous. You all have a good team, and I think our squad's proven their worth. So it's all down to what happens on the field tonight.
Gotta say I’ve had nothing but pleasant interactions with the IU fanbase the last two years. When y’all came to Autzen every person I met was lovely. Best of luck, and if you beat us, please win the title. Cheers, friend!
Thanks. I hope road fans don't get big-head syndrome and stay cool like that.
The online Oregon fans were fun. I loved what happened between them and JMUSportsNews. That was some of the most entertaining stuff this whole season, and it was great to see.
No one left in the playoffs is a joke, but Oregon in particular was a tough, tough out for IU last time. I have faith, but I'm also worried. Those O and D lines are freakin' hard.
After all the injury and portal news I'm like 20% hopeful/nervous and the other 80% is just used to losing these. It'll be a fun one though. Definitely pulling for the winner of this game to win it all next week
Hasenritter at least joined the team as an RB. I imagine he's the "break glass in case of super emergency" option, but the way things have been going we may actually need that option
Yeah you know its really my fault, I mean as an Oregon fan I should have known it was too good to be true that the group that we had been decimated at all season was getting healthy as the playoffs started and we may come out on the otherside of this shit. I mean how could I be that fucking stupid?
Our two coordinators leaving & balancing current jobs with their new jobs, missing a key WR, our RB room is devastated, losing other depth to the transfer portal.
I don't think it's a controversial statement to say the odds are not in our favor
It's so absurd that the transfer portal opens when there are still games left. There's gotta be a fix, tho it probably won't happen if it costs ESPN dollars, lame.
Blocking assignments are probably the real thing that holds back someone from switching to RB.
Given a sufficient level of athleticism, running the ball is straight forward. Knowing who you are responsible of blocking at any given time, that I think would be really, really hard to pick up on the fly.
This has the vibes of being a source of great humor during the game, but whether it'll be at the sake of the Oregon offense or the Indiana defense is the crux.
I hate that Ore is so hamstrung at RB going into this matchup. I wanted something alot more evenly matched.
That being said, If im IU, Im doing everything I can to confuse the RB from a pass blocking and blitz pickup standpoint. IU is already best in the nation at confusing simulated blitz packages and needs to lean in even harder now that there will be confusion in the backfield.
I have no doubt these guys can run and run well in space, but RB pass blocking and communication with the O-Line takes alot of time and skill to coordinate and get good at. Alot more than 4 days, thats for sure.
Dante has been for sure practicing reading the blitzes and throwing into the vacuum left by the blitzing defender, but if the RB is so confused they cant get at least a chip block, then I expect lots of sacks. Plus, I know IU has been prepping hard to backfill the blitz vacuums as well.
Gonna be a tough game, and Ore still scares the piss outta me, but I think if IU leans this direction, they should cause real havoc
Remember earlier in the season when Oregon had so much depth at RB that Makhi Hughes, the Tulane transfer, couldn't even get playing time? Seems like a whole season ago now

Sometimes Joel Klatt talks out his ass, but he harps on the stupidity of the timeline often, and I'm 100% with him on that.
We lost basically the entire team and some money because of this bullshit
The championship game should be played on Jan 3 after all of the bowl games, like it was before.
Do the first round right after CCGs, second round right before Christmas, and the natty the 3rd. Portal opens up the next day. Everyone gets one transfer unless your coach leaves.
And resulted in a fumble on our 2 yard line due to lack of reps.
It’s not their fault.
FTFY.
I know. It's still stupid and I hate it
They could've entered after this game, but wanted to get in early to give themselves better chances of finding a landing spot.
It's not really their fault.
Jayden Limar must’ve felt burned by Oregon’s coaching staff which is why he entered the transfer portal when he did, after the Orange Bowl knowing the injuries incurred and, unlike Harris, isn’t available even though he’s yet to sign elsewhere.

Should change your teams rules then.
People will always say that it’s no excuse.
We started a walk-on TE at MLB in our bowl game last, our depth was so low and still got shit on for losing to a basically full strength Syracuse.
Weren't your receivers just starting to get healthy too? Seems like your offense is cursed.
Yeah, believe we were down to like 4-5 scholarship WR's available at one point.
And at this point the entire program is cursed
There is no reason we don't just do a 2 RB backfield like normal teams at this point, and only if one of noah/dierre goes down do those two see playing time. If we play all 4 I feel like we beat ourselves
They'll be blockers until they're not.
I saw he was transferring- just assuming he was also staying around for the playoffs too
His was the one that everyone knew was coming after he ended up redshirting this year.
The Limar transfer probably hurt us the most
Heard he was visiting UW too, bro does not bleed yellow and green
Bro bleeds whoever will give him the most money and opportunity.
And I don’t blame him.
He has a few years to make money from football, good luck (although most college athletes who play for good programs think they are going pro).
Supposedly, it's a team rule that if you're in the transfer portal, you can't play with the team
Harris is in the Portal and Lanning said he is available. Might be more a "if you have a new home, you aren't sleeping on our couch" deal.
Harris is unique though as he's technically a walk on (or perhaps one of those non-scholarship NIL players)
Isn't the word that Harris is following Stein to Kentucky? That may be a critical difference if he's following the OC. Makes sense he'd be available in that case. Lanning is probably much more okay with playing a transfer in that situation as opposed to a mercenary going to a separate 3rd program.
Honestly, I thought that was a universal rule.
It may be. I don't know. I'm just going off of hearsay
Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Jay Harris, YOU get 15 carries tonight.
Honestly, he's probably looking at it like, "sure I want to play more in general so I need to look elsewhere, but this might be the coolest thing I'll ever do so fuck it"
Tony Freeman wasn't technically in the portal for our bowl game but had declared he was going to enter
From what I've been told, there was a huge difference in how the two players handled the situation. Limar more or less burned his bridges with his approach.
"Just hold it like this and run forward."
Platt used to play some RB in high school so there's that, I guess
Not terribly shocked to hear that. Guys playing D1 were likely far and away the best athlete on their highschool team and played both ways
Like how almost every MLB player was a shortstop or center fielder in high school
I think basically everyone in hs football played both ways. Unless they went to some massive high school or something ofc.
Kilo has a rushing TD at UO too
1200 yds and 24 td his junior year i think (not that HS stats are terribly relevant at all). hassanritter also used to be an RB for us and got some carries in a couple spring games.
Put Amauri(?) Washington at runningback and say “tackle this”
They might do some creative stuff with Kenyon Sadiq
That dude doesn't look human.
Georgia did this a little in 2023 with Bowers. In short yardage situations Bowers lined up at fullback sometimes and got carries.
Georgia was using Bowers on everything possible lol
that’s our best option imo. We need to get him the ball more anyways
I have a CFB dynasty where it puts a DT in as my wildcat QB (not on purpose, but I refuse to change it), it works really well. So AW at RB should work just fine I think
Hoping for a huge performance out of Dierre Hill tonight.
I have been so damn nervous all day about this game. Ugh.
Right there with ya on the nervousness.
You have no reason to be nervous. Y'all have this IN THE BAG.
His best game of the season arguably was the Penn State game which was very high pressured. I think he’s gonna good
Somewhat odd choice of comp when Oregon literally played Indiana already too.
They barely gave him carries in the last IU game.
Yeah, we're all nervous, but so much of that is because we know how good each other's teams are.
I mean, Lanning's a damn good coach, and your defense took it to Texas Tech. Of all the outcomes I envisioned, a shutout was not one of them.

Agreed.
Gotta say I’ve had nothing but pleasant interactions with the IU fanbase the last two years. When y’all came to Autzen every person I met was lovely. Best of luck, and if you beat us, please win the title. Cheers, friend!
Thanks! Online Ducks fans have been pretty cool, and that's awesome. Appreciate the sentiment, and best of luck to you all too!
The IU fans we met at Autzen and at the tailgates were cool as hell.
Thanks. I hope road fans don't get big-head syndrome and stay cool like that.
The online Oregon fans were fun. I loved what happened between them and JMUSportsNews. That was some of the most entertaining stuff this whole season, and it was great to see.
Road fans are the best fans. If you’re willing to go cross country for a game, you’re a real one.
That’s future peach bowl MVP Brayden Platt
Then they will have to give them the heisman because I was told that’s how it works.
Sigh
I am numb. Go Ducks.
Linkin Park Intensifies
But in the end, it doesn’t even matterrrr
I am so nervous
As long as you’re not daunted
Same here.
No one left in the playoffs is a joke, but Oregon in particular was a tough, tough out for IU last time. I have faith, but I'm also worried. Those O and D lines are freakin' hard.
I'm so ready for a fat 3-3 half time
Football the way God intended
After all the injury and portal news I'm like 20% hopeful/nervous and the other 80% is just used to losing these. It'll be a fun one though. Definitely pulling for the winner of this game to win it all next week
Hasenritter at least joined the team as an RB. I imagine he's the "break glass in case of super emergency" option, but the way things have been going we may actually need that option
I wouldn't expect him to run the rock for a hundo and two TDs, but he can surely block.
he also plays on all the special teams I think... not sure though because i dont feel like looking up the participation reports.
He’s faster than the rest of the RBs minus Hill.
We had a linebacker move to running back once. It was pretty dope.
And the first thing he did of note was…throw a pass lol
Who was it?
Kalel Mullings
This is insanity. I hate the timing of the portal. Oregon is getting the shaft here and it's possibly ruining what should be a fantastic game.
Yeah you know its really my fault, I mean as an Oregon fan I should have known it was too good to be true that the group that we had been decimated at all season was getting healthy as the playoffs started and we may come out on the otherside of this shit. I mean how could I be that fucking stupid?
It's fine. Everything is fine. We're all fine.
We do a little tomfoolery here at Oregon, don't pay attention injury report. It's all a part of the plan 😏
OK then. Ducks by 21
Chips are all stacked against Oregon. I’m sure Lanning won’t have an all timer pre game speech.
Oh yeah the chips are stacked against…3 point underdog Oregon.
Our two coordinators leaving & balancing current jobs with their new jobs, missing a key WR, our RB room is devastated, losing other depth to the transfer portal.
I don't think it's a controversial statement to say the odds are not in our favor
Let's not forget Windiana deserves their nickname for a reason
Flair up
Maybe an upside down purple M?
This is fine 🥲
The Brayden Platt Game
Just pick some up in the portal. Bing bang boom.
insert the gif of lil yachty and drake on the computer like oooohhhhhh here
It's so absurd that the transfer portal opens when there are still games left. There's gotta be a fix, tho it probably won't happen if it costs ESPN dollars, lame.
A young Oregon vs an all time Windiana... The 2025 season and playoff have been fucking LIT
Haasenritter sounds like a name the Cubs coach would mistakenly call Henry Roengardner.
Blocking assignments are probably the real thing that holds back someone from switching to RB.
Given a sufficient level of athleticism, running the ball is straight forward. Knowing who you are responsible of blocking at any given time, that I think would be really, really hard to pick up on the fly.
If only this had been the case a couple weeks ago we would have coasted to a victory
Taking out a second mortgage to bet Indiana to cover
This has the vibes of being a source of great humor during the game, but whether it'll be at the sake of the Oregon offense or the Indiana defense is the crux.
Excuses, excuses
I want to see gang tackling with second hats ripping the rock.
I don’t
Username is great btw
Who’s the Boss? Cignetti’s the Boss!
That's a bold strategy Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.
Bold would be assuming no one else gets hurt
I hate that Ore is so hamstrung at RB going into this matchup. I wanted something alot more evenly matched.

Gonna be a tough game, and Ore still scares the piss outta me, but I think if IU leans this direction, they should cause real havoc
Now I know you grew up playing defense and found a calling there.
And I know we paid you billions of NIL monies to play for the Ducks Dominant Defense.
But when we need you the most..
We're gonna slot you in at tailback.
Good Luck 🫡
Brayden Platt was actually played RB in high school and was pretty good
Watch him be an all american caliber RB. Thats how these things always go
What is this dogshit comment lmao
