  • “Nonhuman life ceases to exist” does that include like bees? We need those even if we’re all vegan. Option super city eventually kills more than 50% just by starvation. Actually plants in general are alive too and nonhuman. And no plants doesn’t just mean no food it also means no oxygen. And don’t get me started on all those good bacteria that live inside us and make us able to digest stuff.

Exactly. Unless there is some type of magic involved, nonhuman life being gone, we would either die or this is more of a dystopia. Mao Zedong figured that out when he caused a famine by wiping out a species of sparrow in China and there are been plenty of ecological collapses in localized areas in the past when one species was eliminated. Now you’re basically describing all species that aren’t human being eliminated, including those that basically our freaking oxygen

all nonhuman life. nanites and other technologies replace literally in the second scenario.

  • Both items seem like oxymorons, but I'm gonna be critical of the nature one specifically because I don't see it as talked about so far. The nature option is more problematic than it lets on: nature doesn't like humans, nature kills humans. Humans building unnatural structures is a direct response to nature's hostility. You don't get "higher QoL" naked in a forest - you get diseases, parasites, extreme temperatures, predators, and a palpable lack of modern medicine. Unless magic is happening, a higher QoL with a full-fledged "return to nature" is a contradiction.

  • Non-human life includes plants, animals, fungi and bacteria, good or bad

    WHAT WOULD WE EAT

synthetic food. nantes would replace the bacteria on our skin and in our gut.

  • Both would be hell either way, supply chains and logistics would collapse in an instant. Suddenly no power, food, Tik Tok, and that's if you're alive from option one because it never said immunity.

If I pick option two, bees will disappear and we all know how that goes. But maybe cannibalism would sustain us longer.
