My logic for not wanting an AI best friend is because AI is notorious for being a yes-man. I don’t want to be reliant on something that’ll never call me out when I’m wrong. That’s scarier than having no friends.
I have no friends. It's preferable to having an Ai. Any and all ai I've ever interacted with are frustrating and stupid, and also make up a lot of crap.
I mean, in this hypothetical scenario you have the choice between no interaction at all and at least some artificial interaction.
If you think that you might meet new human friends in the future, then that choice becomes a lot more interesting in my opinion. But if there is absolutely zero chance that you will ever have a human friend again for the rest of your life, then you would probably take the AI "friend" at some point.
Well it’s either way you have no friends. I’d rather pretend for a bit that someone actually cares about me, than live in constant misery because I don’t.
