I have been going to the gym for about 6 months and had an intro session with a PT who told me to bulk. I went from about 72kg up to 81kg and according to my scales I’m sitting at 22%bf (I know these can be inaccurate). Definitely starting to notice a bit more extra weight so unsure if I should maintain or even cut. Starting to think I probably should have started with a recomp instead of the bulk

Wanting to start taking gym and nutrition a bit more serious so would like to hear what y’all think. Cheers

  • I would personally cut if you aren’t happy with the extra weight. I don’t have a tone of muscle but cutting to a point I’m happy then will lean bulk.

  • They had you bulk? Yes on nutrition and gym. Just to clarify, because 1 looks like the most belly fat. 2 looks thinner than 3 but may be the angle and light. Good luck!!

All 3 were taken yesterday but yeh I think bulking was not the best choice

It's weird, I'm really OCD and visual. You look different based on the angle.

DO NOT beat yourself up man. We all do things to better ourselves and then need to review what our plan is.

Are you in a place where it's cold right now?

Certainly, gym and nutrition. But you're blessed to be 6'0" - a great height.

How are your legs? My chiropractor/massage therapist and others working with me have me getting my leg strength back

I lost 40 pounds and lost muscle in my legs the most.

Everyone is different. Maybe talk to a different PT and get advice.

  • You need a new PT pal
