I'm 16 yo and I need some advice.I was clean bulking since October on 200/300 kcal surplus weighting around 68kg (I don't remember exactly which day of October I have started) and to December 20 I have gained some kilos so now I weight around 73,5/74kg (First photo is from October and both second and third are from december). I go to gym 4 times a week training PPL+Upper.
Since October my pull-ups improved from 1 to 7 and my bench press went from 67,5kg one rep max (but it was really hard to press) to 72,5kg easily (I made it November 27 ).
I'm planning to bulk till february/march and then I want to cut.I also wanted to ask whether I gained a lot of fat or not and will it be possible to cut in 4/5 months (I would want to make my abs and muscles more visible ) (I want to cut february/march to July)
(As You may see, before bulking I already had a little belly because I used to be skinny fat one year ago but I made it smaller by doing recomp as my first diet for 3 months).
I'm looking forward for any advice
Nah, you are just 16, and not overweight, so just go with lean bulk or maintainance for next couple of years.
I was thinking of it,but to be honest,I really want to have such nice looking physique for summer 2026.Is small cut like -200/-300kcal for 3/4 months good idea though?
I’d keep bulking for a bit but gain slower no more than 1kg-ish a month
And what do you think about doing small cut before summer for 3/4 months?
Maintain + train
And is small cut for maybe 3/4 months before summer to have better physique good idea?
Always worth a shot. In the states summer starts in May, so consider a cut again around Easter. Adjusting timing for your locale or when it's Pool Season/Beach Season.
Don't cut for more than 4 weeks, you don't look like you have a lot of body fat to start with and you don't want to burn your muscle
To be honest I'm from Poland so mainly we have summer from the beginning of july to the end of August. So do you think that after march I could do 1 month cut to lose my fat?And also if -200 kcal deficit will be enough?I was also planning to do maybe 2-3 times a week incline cardio for fat loss.
I'd just work on maintain, and continuing to train. Don't even worry about cut until you get to May1st.
Work on your posture and your belly will fade. Tighten up your core to support your frame. You've got good muscle definition in your delta and arms, but your chest needs some help. Just eat, workout, and let your age work in your favor.
You've got this, just don't over think it or micro manage it.
Well, thank you.I also know that I'm going on 2-week abroad internship in May where I probably won't count calories,so should I start my cut from April?Do you can also give me some advice about improving my chest, biceps and triceps definition, having good posture and tightening core?I'm trying to do many unilateral exercises because I have a little disproportion in my left arm so my left arm could look a little little bit smaller. What could you tell me about my chest?
PS Sorry for that amount of questions but I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as I can
I'm a fan of 5/3/1. Easy, linear, and very scripted which can make it easy to stick to it.
Bench and overhead press will help your chest, but do pullups and rows to help your back too. Dips help triceps and also your back.
You have low muscle mass so don't worry about definition yet. Build up the muscle and it'll define itself.
So now I should clean bulk since maybe April and in may try to do little cut?I'm only worried if I have and will have enough muscle to do cut. What weight do you think should I reach to march/April?And what parts of my body are well developed with muscle mass and which are not?
Cut for a week or two and then bulk 10 more lbs over a few months
So do you think that 2-3 weeks or a month will be enough to burn fat?I was planning to make my abs and other muscles visible.
I wouldn’t even do 3 weeks maybe 2 at most, worry about abs when you have enough muscle to make it count. Add some sort of weighted ab exercise and train it how you would any other muscle, decline weighted sit ups are a good idea. Your muscles are all about as visible as they would be, they are however somewhat small, hence why you should consider bulking. Once you get to a point where you actually feel big, you can cut and have good aesthetics. But rn if you continued cutting you will become skinny most likely.
Track your macros try to gain 1lb/week or so and keep training how you are for another 10-15lbs, then you can lean out.
In order to carve a sculpture you need to start with a big rock, or something like that.
