Yearly offseason conversation. It wont happen until the league actually expands which wont happen until the As are settled in Vegas and the Rays figure where their permanant home is going to be.
Yeah changing how baseball has been for like 60 years is a good thing. Constant change in a game that's been around for like 200 years is a good thing.
The most recent expansion was 27 years ago. There are MLB teams younger than me. Side note that I just learned: if you include the Negro Leagues (you should), the current 27 years is the longest span of time in the history of baseball dating back to 1876 in which there were no teams added or removed from major league baseball.
The most recent league change/division realignment was 13 years ago.
In the last "like 60 years":
MLB has added 10 teams over 4 expansions
divisions were introduced.
playoffs were introduced.
The Braves moved to Atlanta.
A third division in each league was introduced.
The Braves moved from the NL West to the NL East
the wildcard was introduced
the second wildcard and wildcard game were introduced
The 3rd wildcard team was introduced
Interleague play was introduced
The universal DH was introduced
Replay and call challenges were introduced
ABS- challenge was introduced
you are wailing about the death of baseball over expansion and realignment, which happens all the time.
The golden bat rule will never happen because literally everyone except Manfred knows its fucking stupid, and I'm sure by now he knows it too.
Whole sale changing the leagues is not the same as adding teams. And yes Manfred is fucking stupid. Don't forget he says the world series trophy is just a hunk of metal.
60 years ago there were no divisions or playoffs. and they've been "whole sale changing the leagues" or playoff stucture every handful of years since then.

Cant believe we managed to snag the GOAT
We'll always remember Braves legend Ken Whatdafuck.
Hang his jersey next to Carmelo's and Rasheed's Hawks jerseys in the GA Sports Hall of Fame!
AA playing 4d chess now that the leagues are going to re-align.
He’s acting wisely

Wait what realignment? Did I miss something?

You mean the death of baseball. Yeah it will be great. I can't wait for the golden batter rule.
You're not very bright, are you?

learn to read buddy.

"LOVE this trade for the Rays. Who'd they give up? And who'd they get?"
Now I have to explain to all 24 of my children that their favorite players are gone
Turned 2 waiver claims and guys that were probably gonna be DFAd into something. I’ll take it
These guys were already DFA’d for the Soriano and Kinley signings. Good trade to get something for nothing
Ah, good old Cash Considerations, my favorite trade prospect!
NOT THE RAYS. THOSE GUYS ARE HOF BOUND NOW SMH.
Waldichuk was a bit of a surprise. He was very bad last year, but he has options and most of the fringe guys on our 40 man don’t.
Future All-Star Ken Waldichuk now that he’s in the Rays org
Welcome home Cash Considerations, we missed you
Cash Considerations has never blown a Save opportunity NOT EVEN ONCE, career long…
Is this clearing space on the 40-man?
No. They’d both already been DFA’d, one when we claimed Soriano, the other when we signed Kinley
I love how people just downvote questions when they know the answer instead of answering. lol. I appreciate you actually answering.
Damn, turn the stove down, it’s too hot in here.
Ken Waldichuk, we hardly knew ye
Wisely done.
The next Shane McClanahan
Never get too excited about these but can't help but think these are done with the confidence of at least some more (somewhat) impactful signings
i wouldn’t think of it as anything more than “they already DFAed both guys and now they got a stick of gum for free”
