Hey everyone. I’m thinking about coming from Charlotte to Atlanta for Braves fest this year for my birthday. I’m a die hard Braves fan and have been my entire life.

My question. For those of you who have been. Do you think as someone in their 30s would it be worth it to make the drive? Or is this something that’s primarily for kids? I just don’t want to drive 5 hours, get there, and be like “alright well I’m good” after being there for an hour or two.

For those who have been, you think it would be worth it?

Thanks!

  • I’ve been. It’s cool. I would not drive 5 hours unless you plan on getting autos and such. As a local it’s a fun thing to do on a Saturday, but I would it make a trip for it personally

  • I've went to the last 2 braves fests and I'll just share my experience.

Got to talk to and meet Soroka, Maztek, and Olson at the MLB the Show Competition. Got pictures with Riley and bought merch in the chophouse that was on sale, plus some bobbleheads.

What was so bad, was logistically they didn't know what they were doing. Insane lines, everyone asshole to elbow. They don't really plan it well at all. You have to pick and choose what you want to do, maybe 2 or 3 things and thats it. Our first year we went, we waited in line for an hour and a half for pictures with Riley, and right before we went in they cut off the line and said "Okay we're done". We ended up missing a couple other things we wanted to do because of it.

Its cool to go to if you're like me and live an hour away from Truist, but I wouldn't drive from NC to it at all.

  • I went several years ago and thought it was cool but I now also live in NC and wouldn’t make the trip just for this.

If you’re gonna also spend the night, hit the aquarium, hike Stone Mountain etc then yes it’s well worth stopping by. But for me, 10hr round trip to be in and out of the event is too much.

  • Hello, also a die-hard Braves fan in Charlotte 👋

  • If you go with tempered expectations, it can be a perfectly fine time. But they have made it less and less fan friendly (at least for adults) over the years, so keep that in mind.

  • Thanks for asking, I’m also making the trip from Charlotte

  • As someone who lives 10 minutes from the ballpark, I no longer go as it’s the same stuff every year. And really, like the benefits of being a season ticket holder, it’s more watered down every year.

With that said, If I had never been, and could wrap it into a larger weekend of activities in Atlanta, yeah I’d say it would make for a fun weekend.

  • IMO not worth it if you have been before. But as a first time might be worth it for you. I guess I have been so many times to the A list event that there isn't anything I haven't already seen. And judging by the lack of the A list crowd this year (worst attendance I've seen since they've moved to Truist) it might be a good year for your 1st time.

  • It’s cool. If I were you I’d probably make a weekend out of it. Lotta fun stuff in ATL.

  • It honesty just depends. You very well might run into players and coaches randomly. Two years ago I went and I took an elevator up and my cousin and I rode with Walt Weiss and talked to him for a little bit. Several years back, one of the first ones, they had BP in the cages. I forget which prospects pitched to us but it was fun. You obviously have to pay for autographs from Acuna and others. I got a high five from Austin Riley one year. They also have random pop-up photo ops for players that you just have to wait in line for. I got pictures with Kelenic and Pierce Johnson last time. I’ve been twice and I had a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I would necessarily drive from North Carolina just for it.

  • It’s what you make it. It’s crowded with long lines. Don’t expect to make best friends with Austin Riley or anything. But for me it was a chance to hang with my buddies and meet other Braves fans. It was a 4 hour drive for me. I could’ve sat at home and watched Seinfeld, or drink beer with my bros and meet Jesse Biddle. Have fun and make the most of it.

  • I'm sending my 10yo with a friend .. how much money do yall think I should send with him? I saw 2 autographs were $125 and he seems to think that's "worth it" 😅 how much for all the other stuff & what the heck else is there for them to do??
