• The woman should still have sued that county, and especially whoever was driving the other vehicle that blocked the road and forced her to stop the first time.

    The hand-scribbled letter is hilarious.

Illiterate AND racist. God bless America.

30% of America is functionally illiterate, and 30% is avowedly racist, I wonder what the overlap is?

The Venn diagram is a circle.

He's got a couple of days. Fuck that guy.

Good. This guy was a danger to other people. I wouldn't think that man wearing a filthy t-shirt and driving an ummarked vehicle was a law enforcement, either.

This psycho should have been put in a cage for a few years, not allowed to simply retire.

Yes, but it doesn't look like it takes effect until Wednesday. He could still be out on the road, looking for Black women to terrorize.

  • He really, really just wanted to ticket her for Driving While Black. And she passed an old, white man while doing it!

  • He should have put that overzealous asshole in cuffs and in the back of his car.

And there is no way in hell that such a speeding ticket would hold up in court since he was moving. You can't clock speed while you're moving.

I think I heard the second officer on the scene say that the idiot didn’t even have a radar gun?

I wouldn't be surprised. Probably just got pissed off that someone passed him and decided to be an asshole.

I'm even more curious about this second vehicle that the woman said blocked the road and cut her off. Wherever this Jefferson County is, people need to stay the hell out of there.

Can confirm, all of Arkansas really

I mean, she had the audacity to pass him, an old white man AND a Constable, and then wouldn’t pull over when told to do so. What was he supposed to do? /s

Honestly, she did the right thing by calling 911 and staying on the line with them. Who knows how that cretin would have acted without witnesses around, but based on his behavior with other LEOs present it would have been pretty awful. I’m sure it’s not the first time he’s harassed black people in his community.

It’s also telling that his resignation letter lists specific activities he’ll no longer be doing, and his conversation with the other police is interesting. He admits that if he’d been making an ‘extrajudicial’ stop (not that he’d know that word, it’s got way too many syllables) he’d have removed his badge and decals.

  • How is this dumbass qualified to write anyone a ticket?

He’s remembering the good old days back in the 50s and they could just cite Black people for anything

Yeah, it’s crazy when the one cop is like “you know the history around here” and the old cop is like “if I was doing THAT I would have taken my decals off!” like it was just as normal as anything and he used to do “it” all the time.

He did do it all the time. He's old enough to have been in the KKK in the '60s. He looks like he's at least 75. He'd be around 18 in 1968.

Naw, he's remembering the good old days when they'd just chase them out into the sticks and well, you can guess the rest.

Funny enough, he literally wasn't. At the time of the incident, his own department mostly threw him under the bus for being extremely out of compliance for nearly everything. The fact they all but admitted they carried fault for still having him on the books was kinda surprising.

I was just thinking that most of his tickets probably get thrown out. I’d be surprised if he showed up to court, but if he did it would be an interesting court day since he likely can’t back anything he says up with facts.

In the original article, it was pointed out he was at least 6 years out of compliance with his own department's standards, he did not follow uniform guidelines, and definitely did not follow vehicle marking guidelines, and the responding officers basically told him he could claim a verbal warning, but had zero business trying to write any ticket.

Had he shown up in traffic court, he would have been lucky if he was only laughed out of the building, as it would not only be thrown out, but serve as further evidence at the eventual civil trial he likely still has coming his way.

  • What the fuck is a "constable"? And how can you be one if you're 100 years old?

I think it varies but they kinda do like more background type police stuff like organize security and serve papers.

The governor of a royal castle

    It's called a dictionary.

A constable is not called a dictionary. 🙄

That caught me off guard and I actually laughed out loud. Take my upvote, please.

  • I gotta say the England county guys did a pretty good job good job there.

FWIW, England is actually a city so the first guy was a "local cop" and then he called in Lonoke County deputies.

Ahh. Sorry!! Either way Cops and especially US ones get a bad wrap pretty often. These guys seemed to be trying to resolve it the easiest way with out the old dude being more of a dick.

No worries, I agree wholeheartedly. I think that city cops tend to be worse than deputies so I'm actually really impressed by the city cop.

So where does a sherif fit in all this? The boom was one and the third guy was as well I think?

The boomer was a Constable which is like a para-cop. The second guy to arrive, the bald guy, I think was also a local cop since he showed up in a car like the first officer's. He may have been the supervisor (I admit I did not watch this in its entirety) - the polo shirt indicates that he wasn't on patrol.

The last person to show up (in the greyish button-up) is a deputy from the Lonoke County Sheriff.

    Police department = officer
    Sheriff department = deputy

  • Boomers strangle the life out of any power they've managed to get for themselves. They just can't let go for some reason. This guy is the perfect example. Look how worked up he is that someone dared to not "respect his authority." And look how much trouble he's creating for everyone else around him. It's ridiculous.

Yep - see Congress and the Senate for reference

  • Wherever Jefferson County is, stay the fuck outta there.

Arkansas, so yes, avoid the entire state at all costs

  • Dude's dressed like he's about to mow the lawn, and wonders why somebody wouldn't respect his authori'tah! I can't say that I blame her.

  • Clapped-out POS 25 year old truck with illegal headlights, illegal front directional signals, a rooftop light and aftermarket grill that look like they're from Temu, a tiny little door decal that looks homemade, and a tin star on a chain around the neck of that old man who yells incoherent nonsense at clouds, especially black ones. I'd say the lady was about 300 percent right that he was sus AF.

  • Hard to tell but I think she’s black. So this was likely 100% racially motivated. And I’ve never seen a “cop” car over 20-25 yrs old.

Apparently in some Southern states they have elected township constables, who hold the same authority as Sheriffs, but with zero oversight. Generally they get paid almost nothing. This guy got $100 a month. The only reason these guys exist is because they led the slave-catching gangs back in the day.

Worse, they're almost impossible to fire, short of the state Governor signing off on it. The local government can vote to impeach or recall them, or push them towards resignation (which is apparently what happened in his case with the comical hand-written letter he submitted), but they just about can't be fired, not least given that in many regions, they might be part of the police union, even despite not being a traditional officer.

  • He left second grade and became constable…Merica!

  • Old man just went full "Respect Mah Authoritah!!!"

  • Wow! A boomer who is all about control and power! That's a new one/s.....

  • All the other police vehicles have tons of lights flashing. Anyone can put a little blue light on top of a truck.

  • I've seen this. I am so glad they told him what for!

  • Legit people are killed by people impersonating cops you can go onto goals GALLS and order all the gear lights badges everything. And there are many many many serial killers that impersonate law-enforcement. This woman was absolutely correct and right and she took action and called and said where can I marked law-enforcement meet me and I will meet them there and she did absolutely everything she was instructed by 911.

  • boomer always like power and will never give it up. no matter what

  • Stay retired, ya old fool. Why was he even working in the law past 10-20 years?

  • I hate to say it, but this kind of bevaviour is just another reason not to travel to the USA. Would someone like him be able to start a civil forfeiture action if he found some cash in his illegal stop?
