im like 70% sure this is supposed to be banned

    parent
    2 points SansSkely

    why

    parent root
    21 points om0ri_

"for all intensive purposes" is a really common BAT and if every instance was put here itd drown out everything else

    parent root
    -7 points SansSkely

well, according to rule 3, if this BAT hasn't been posted this week, then i can post it myself

Yes, it's officially allowed. What was meant, is,that this should be added to the list of banned BAT's.

    It's not really wrong

    parent
    2 points atticusjackson

    Explain.

    parent root
    -13 points Olistu_

Well a incredibly big portion of people call it that and spell it like that

    parent root
    2 points atticusjackson

Who does? Where did you come by this information?

    parent root
    6 points Autistic-Teddybear

Yeah that’s not how literally anything works

    parent root
    11 points [deleted]

A lot of people also spell "you're" as "your". Doesn't make it correct.

    parent root
    3 points ArmWildFrill

    Yes it is

    parent root
  • -8 points pereuse

Wait I can't even tell what it's supposed to be

    parent
    26 points Commercial-Offer-435

Intents and purposes. come on people!

    parent root
    5 points thanatica

Not everyone is primarily English, which makes it harder to guess the solution

This is what I thought the phrase was for the longest time until I first saw it in writing and then facepalmed for several hours

    parent
    -27 points Olistu_

    That's not really wrong

    parent root
    1 points atticusjackson

    Explain.

    parent root
    6 points TheGothWhisperer

What? Of course it's wrong. The phrase is "for all intents and purposes" as in "to include any intent or purpose one might have", intensive or otherwise.

    parent root
    8 points TurankaCasual

Dude same. I’m pretty good with vocabulary and grammar too. But I was way to old when I found this one out

    parent root
  • 29 points MisterEd_ak

    Obviously should be "intensive porpoises"

    parent
    3 points ddddan11111

    Probably just a fluke
