I can see how some black men and women will feel hesitant about the intent behind someone saying “I find black men entertaining” when it comes from a white person. Especially in the context of a culture that often portrayed them in certain stereotypes and roles. Respecting any group of people is respecting their own feelings about something that includes them. :)
