I have bangs to hide my forehead but they’re such a hassle to do in the morning and they’re causing me acne. I tried “dramatic” edges but they just look LONG on my forehead.
As a fellow big forehead girl the best answer I have for you : don't.
Instead aim for styles that showcase or accentuate your features natural by bringing in aspects that brings harmony to them. IE big head for me mean chandelier earrings. Big forehead up top may mean bolder lip color at the bottom or cute hairdos that extend away from the scalp (fros, curls, puffs). Experiment. Have fun understanding what you think looks best WITH your body, not hiding it.
I ain't a expert. But I think that spending time trying to hide your features takes so many years off a life spent freely enjoying them.
Social media and especially being in America with so many Eurocentrically skewed perspectives of beauty have really tainted how we view our varied & unique features as Black people. Our big foreheads only bother us & cause us to want to hide them because we compare them to so many smaller foreheads and think it’s necessary to even seek validation about the size online, something people with small foreheads don’t feel the need to do. Sometimes a forehead online could even be digitally edited, altered with makeup. No matter what, that small forehead doesn’t make ours less beautiful. Even posting something like this is damaging (of course to yourself but also to others who may not even want to hide theirs). Traveling somewhere else full of Black people (Jamaica) really helped me stop hating this God-given facial feature because people in other places, especially off the phone, reminded me that I was naturally gorgeous and didn’t even have to acknowledge the size of my forehead to do so. There are some lovely people uplifting and validating you on this post and that should mean something.
Love yourself enough to not want to hide any of you.
There's this clip of Kevin Gates talking abt Rihanna's forehead and how he'd just kiss that forehead yo. I really don't believe it's the best idea to cover it up, but it's your life.
Bangs or somehow bringing your hairline forward ie with a wig. When I wear wigs I bring it past the “hump” line of my forehead ie where my hairline should actually be. Non hair - use bronzer. If you bronze around your hairline it can make your forehead appear smaller.
Before I read your caption I thought “I bet she has bangs” due to the acne. I think that you should give the bangs up and try other styles. I also used to try to hide mine, but it’s so much better to just work with what I have and do different styles. It’s working for me!
Do your eyebrows to take the focus off your forehead. Use some baby hairs to help make it appear smaller but don’t go too baby hair over kill. Use a makeup couture foundation that’s slightly darker than your skin tone. Use it around your hair line to shrink your forehead. Don’t limit yourself with styles… Just use tricks as an illusion.
My forhead is pretty fine now, but i do have a bunch i will get my fathers hairline sooner then later. Some people just have hairlines farther back.
If it makes you feel ant better, I've never once looked at someone and thought of their hairline. Its not something anyone can control and it never occurred to me to judge anyone for it. I had one friend in school who always worried about her hairline, yet I always complimented her on her hair because she had some of the beat styles!
The internet made people insecure about their hairline for some reason. It started like 10 years ago and its always confused me. Don't take advice from people who cannot even be comfortable expressing their true self.
I had acne like that too when I tried to use bangs to cover my big forehead. Girl just embrace it! Try different styles and see if you like your hair up or framing ur face. But u can't hide the forehead girl u gotta just figure out what styles look best for your head shape.
Hop on 5% topical minoxidil twice daily, oral minoxidil daily, twice per week microneedling, and build up to daily tretinoin to grow a lower hairline and fix your acne. It will take a long time since you have long hair (think two years minimum) and there is a technique to do it properly, but it will be worth it.
Don't listen to people who say you just have to deal with it. If there's something you don't like about your body you have the power to change it. The only person being negatively affected by you having a naturally recessed hairline is you. More specifically, your self esteem and the maximum beauty your body is capable of achieving.
I just want to reiterate whenever someone says "there's nothing you can do" or "these beauty standards are reinforced by-" they are forcing you into their level of complacency. There is a solution out there, but you just need to find it by searching key words and ask medical professionals for help.
Bangs. You can habe them either fro bangs or straight tbh. You just habe to use the gels/serumd that help prevent shrinkage to keep the fro bangs out most the day. :)
How much hair do you have? enough to do a braid out afro and a possible bang/fringe? if not, you honestly have nothing to hide. It's you :( sorry you feel like you have to change it

Bangs
Easy, you don't. It's not gonna go anywhere. You cant cut it off. So as a fellow five head, I've embraced it.
As a fellow five head, I sometimes exaggerate it by pulling the hair straight back and kind of bumping it up. I think high foreheads look regal 👸🏾

You can't if bangs aren't working. You could try headwraps and other headwear. Avoid styles that are cropped close to the head/pulled back.

If Rihanna can rock it so can you! Embrace it lol.
If you don’t want to them swoop bangs or big edges I guess idk

my bangs are not causing this much acne. Hows your diet and skin care routine? This seems like more than bangs

Embrace it and call it a 5head 😂
That's what I do with mine 🤷🏾♂️
Wear big framed glasses.
Stay home
We like big foreheads!
Honestly I'd either shave it off or just wear a wig
Aim the black marker at your forehead.
🙁

Sorry that person is a huge douchebag. I doubt they'll get the self awareness to apologize for their own behavior, so...
