Hey! I've been growing out my hair 2 years and have transitioned from a high/mid fade to a fro in the last 10 months.
I'm thinking of braiding my hair for the first time (most likely cornrows) and was just wondering if there's any tips people have to prevent cornrows being too tight and risking traction alopecia? Is there something I should tell the braider beforehand or a specific style of cornrows that's more gentle on the scalp?

Just tell the braider if it feels too tight. When they’re braiding the back of your head, bend your chin as close to your chest as possible. Stretching out the back of your head/neck will make it less tight at the back so you can still move your head.
Thank you !
