Hi everyone!

I have a friend visiting me during Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. Since he is a musician , he is really eager to experience the authentic Southern music scene—specifically Jazz, Blues, and anything with that unique Southern soul that only around here.

Could you recommend some must-visit place in Birmingham for live music? I'm looking for places that have a great atmosphere and live performances, whether it's an intimate jazz club or a grit-and-soul blues bar.

I know it’s a holiday weekend, so I’m not sure if that changes the regular schedules, but if you know of any specific spots or even special MLK weekend events/jams, please let me know!
