America is one of my favourite players of recent memory. She is a super fan of the game who is not as pedantic and predictable as other super fans before and after her. A trait among many others that makes her so rootable.
During BB25 she was an engaging character on feeds and a strategic presence that for a time was the only opposition to Cirie and her many children.
America in my opinion is an unspoken of victim and incredibly unlucky draw for a cast and inequitable comp. She had competent ideas but without comps to let her wield power her ideas couldn't manifest. There is a common argument used against America and players in her archetype when, the argument is that they weren't liked by their cast or had no ability to get allies to keep her info, however I blame this on the fact the BB25 cast was rife with misogyny and a need to use America as their scape goat.
Despite all this America and her number 1 Cory were able to trudge through the game and even pull of a move that dismantle Ciries power structure.
Even beyond tactical gameplay America was a shining light in BB25 since she was one of the only reasonable and tolerable people on the cast barring Cirie and Cory. Everyone else on BB25 had their glaring flaws that made them unrootable at one point or another, either due to their gameplay or just who they are/were. America was like one of the cool and fun people on the cast and I think that's such an underrated quality on such an unlikeable cast of people.
I have rooted for few people as hard during the late game of as I did America. I remember literally praying (im not religious) for her and Cirie to clutch a comp and get the three stooges/mafia and then for America to forcefully drag Bowie to the end and beat her. Ashley winning BB27 with a cast that wasn't fond of her made me wish America could have won against the abhorrent BB25 cast, especially amid all the hostility towards her by endgame players.
The reason I was spared to make this post is cause I was going through different threads on reddit, twitter, YouTube about BB25 and it was always so clear that America was one of the few things that made BB25 tolerable post Zombie week and even before that. Thus America may not be this great player or huge personality, but her competence in the game and sheer normality is what made her so rootable in BB25.

She said If she knew somehow that was gonna be her only real chance at HOH she wouldve made a deal with Cam for him to step down and not target him as she was already talking to Cory about going after Cirie/Izzy. But like we all know Matt had the power and if she had put up Izzy/Cirie, high chance Matt wouldve canceled the eviction if Cirie had been evicted OR Izzy still leaves, Cirie/Jared are after her full force and shes gone the next week

Actually the season probably would’ve ended the same. Only difference is Jag would’ve won without being evicted beforehand. America was very against Cirie at that point and probably would’ve put a combination of Cirie/Izzy/Felicia/Jared on the block. (If it wasn’t them, then it would’ve been Cameron and Red since she hated Cameron in the house.) But it was most likely the first combination. And if any of those 4 were evicted, Cirie would’ve just got Matt to use his power to stop it. And America probably would’ve been evicted a lot earlier for openly going against Cirie, so in hindsight, her giving the pressure cooker to Cam was the better choice!

Aside from the obvious Fields family and inequitable comps - America fell into two situations that both allowed her to play the way she did but also closed the vast majority of paths she had to the end.
One is the way she was being treated like a snake early on (a little bit justly, a little more bit Family Style and For Real For Real needed a scapegoat), which would usually mean imminent eviction, but because of how the cards fell, she was able to position herself as the direct opposition to the Fields when it mattered. As much as I'd like to see how Americory would've played against them later on, I do think this was the best moment to strike. The issue is that after such a big move and with Jared as the next HoH, the snake badge stuck to her again. Getting it off her would've required social game she didn't have. Especially in that house with these men. And Mecole. And Felicia. And Cirie for a week
The other is that the example you provided - Ashley - was able to position herself perfectly in a final 3 situation, where the final 3 was the best (and realistically - only) time she was able to make the game winning move. America wasn't in that position on BB25. FBJ was. With Bowie Jane in the house America was never getting into that position with Jag and Matt. And, again, with her social game and, again, with the house, she was not getting there in reasonable time over Cirie or Felicia. Maybe even Cory. If anything, Cory and America fumbled Bowie Jane in the late pre-jury/early jury. Though it's hard to say if they even had a chance with her without winning as much as Matt & Jag did
If I see her again definitely trusting America to play for herself and have reasonable knowledge about the game, which is more than you could say about 80% of the players

America was a very welcome presence in BB25 and I'd love to see her play again.
I think BB25 had one of the hardest houses for any player to navigate due to the unforeseen Cirie and Jared twist (which made any opposition to Cirie basically moot because they had no way of knowing that Jared was going to tell Cirie everything) and inequitable comps. It's amazing that America and Cory were able to flip the house to get Cirie's second-in-command evicted in the first place. Hell, it took Cirie literally being tied to Felicia for the flip to even happen!
Unfortunately, America was the target of a lot of sexism in the house and it would be great to see her in a house that wasn't so stacked against her.

They absolutely did. Izzy is a Cirie/Survivor super fan, Jared is a secret family member to everyone but Izzy, and thy cast another older black woman (which is extremely uncommon). Plus they gave Cirie pseudo immunity week 1.

True, he was a BB superfan but also pretty invested in Survivor so they probably intended for him to also gravitate towards Cirie (which he did).
Also, and I really don’t want to bring up the race thing much, but there were 2 more black women as well. BB has definitely tried to be more diverse recently but I don’t think it’s particularly a coincidence that all of the black players on 25 were either women or a Fields family member.
That doesn’t guarantee they work with Cirie (Kirsten left first after all, though Cirie might have campaigned to keep her if she wasn’t on the block against Felicia, we’ll never know). However there’s an argument to be made Mecole floated the whole game but was in the pocket for Cirie and Felicia most of the time. Their shared characteristics are probably a factor in that.
They gave us the biggest duds, and they happened to make it to the end, pretty much like BB19.
I was super disappointed that Cirie basically just gave up at the end. Like she stopped playing.

Typically there’d be a younger group alliance that is winning those comps and I think they hoped Jared would be a part of that and helping her with that end of the show. I don’t think it was set up to be guaranteed for her to win but I do agree they added some elements that they hoped would help her.

Looking forward to seeing this post make an appearance on Cory’s twitch stream! That summer I would dream of America winning a comp (besides the night one puzzle) but instead I would always see that fuckass tweet of Jags face come up on my timeline.
America will always be one of my favorite players and when Cory got evicted, I was hoping against hope that she would team up with Cirie but inequitable comps would have always been her downfall (and the rampant misogyny in the BB25 house).
She may not necessarily be the best player but she is one of the funniest and realest plus her being a superfan is a huge positive and her showmance with Cory made me believe in love.
Loved her on BB and loved her on The Challenge. She's authentic and smart and funny, refuses to be a sheep, and has this sparkly, slightly mischievous personality that is just so fun to watch. I really hope we see her on TV again. My fave.

They were great to watch because it was really cute watching such an unlikely showmance unfold. Most of the hate at the time came from her being opposition to Cirie & Izzy who were big fan favourites due to Cirie’s track record, particularly on Twitter.
A lot of it has softened and now the hate I see is more because people don’t like her fans and the whole showmance this.

I genuinely think Cirie's power structure imploding was a bad thing for the season, the season was objectively more entertaining when Cirie Jared and Izzy were running around being messy than the absolute slog that was the second half of bb25
I love that structure. I think Corey acted too soon because he would’ve beat Cirie, Izzy and Jared in comps in my opinion.
I understand why fans liked her spunk but why do people pretend she was a good player? It wasn’t just her lack of winning a comp. She refused to adapt to the game around her. She was very stubborn and didn’t branch out or really try to make other relationships. And the relationships she did have (except Cory) someone else had a better relationship with. And even if she won a comp, she would’ve kept Jag/Matt/Blue over worse physical competitors.
She was kind of a hindrance to Cory’s game because nobody really trusted her which affected his relationships.
She had a shortlist of people she wanted to work with and people she didn't from as early as Week 1. Not literally, but that's how inflexible she was during the game. She was all in on Matt and Jag until they backstabbed her, and even after that she sulked in bed and didn't meaningfully attempt to get any sort of resistance together.
America and Cory were literally going to target Jag/Matt the next week if Jag hadnt put them up and if they had been able to win HOH
Oh I'm sure, it's always the next week. I know that's what they said, but I don't buy it and I don't need to; the story's written. They didn't lay any groundwork or attempt to build any rapport with Felicia, Blue, or Cirie (before or after the blindside) but that was totally going to happen. Cirie was the person actually talking to people like Blue and Felicia and all but begging them to realize the trouble they were in. America and Cory were in bed. They were chicken and they knew it, and that's why America was so pissed when Jag actually decided to pull the trigger. Even if Americory did make the move, it'd be difficult making it to the end because their/America's social game and strategic rapport with the other HG's just wasn't good...and that's because of her inflexibility throughout the season.
Jay and Matt's death march to the end is on every player from at least Final 8 on. On production for the comps and back to back HOH's, on everybody for not winning comps, on Bowie for mindlessly enabling them, on Cirie for being too quiet and cautious after going into defense mode, on Blue for trusting them implicitly for no good reason, on Felicia for ratting Cirie out for no good reason, and finally on America and Cory for being the very definition of inflexible and passive. That's the story.
I’m not going to say she’s a ~great~ player, but on both BB & The Challenge she deserves some credit. In BB25, she was up against brick walls on every side;
The Cirie/Jared twist made her position early on untenable and she was lucky that Felicia took out Hisam that she was able to pull back from there.
Blue and Mecole were - albeit for different reasons - just not budging at all no matter how much she worked on them and how many good points she made. Endgame could’ve been quite different if Mecole had given them just some scraps before she got evicted.
Misogynistic comments and Matt’s random hate for her (jealousy that Cory & America were the showmance of the season not him & Reilly?) from pretty much the very start.
Cam was a good game ally for her in terms of his targets but he also was creepy and made her feel uncomfortable so again it was a brick wall of awkwardness.
Um she was NOT gonna keep Matt and Jag together especially by the time her and Cory were elimated.

I like America and everything, but she really wasn’t that impactful for the game. I don’t think this would’ve changed with a different cast. She’s just an idle player. She didn’t win any comps, never really swayed any big votes, and never had real control over the direction of the game. A lot of talk little action. The showmance was fun!
Her biggest moment was probably cursing out Jag or Matt in the bathroom, which was entertaining, but it didn’t really change anything in the game or save the season.
I think she could do better on a second chance, but I honestly don’t really get the hype outside of her being a genuinely good person and a fun presence online

Shoutout to America for calling out the inequitable competitions during her live eviction. BB26 and BB27 were much more enjoyable because of improved comp design, and while America may not have directly impacted that, it was still powerful that she had the courage to say something on live TV and it does seem like production eventually learned its lesson even if it wasn’t directly from America. Unfortunately, it likely cost her any chance of returning to BB, America has shared that production was not happy about it and they reprimanded her right after. Production was also unhappy that they had to heavily edit around their “golden children,” Matt and Cameron, to minimize the awful things they said about her. I’d love to see her back on a season with equitable comps and a cast that doesn’t dislike her from day one though. Will still keep my fingers crossed 🤞

I love America and she’s on my list of players who I would love to see play survivor. I think she’d do better on that show instead. I know she hasn’t watched much survivor but I think she started getting into more after being on BB.
Winning competitions is less important in survivor which takes away her biggest weakness. She may be seen as weak in the premerge but nowadays strength isn’t that important anymore.
Her strategic reads were actually pretty good on big brother. I credit Cory for doing the most of the work for the Izzy flip, but she started it and pushed for her to go.
Socially she wasn’t the greatest as she didn’t have that many steady allies besides Cory, but in new era survivor that wouldn’t matter. If she can improve socially and clean up her strategy a bit she can do great on that show.
Of course this is all a hypothetical make believe

Was such a weird season. I remember on premiere night I was literally pinching myself because it felt so weird that Cirie was gonna be on season, felt like it was a dream. I liked Americory, there was really nobody else I really liked.
The competitions in s25 were so incredibly unfair!! I remember rooting for an America win soooo hard but the competitions made it impossible. She was definitely the star of the feeds for me and so much fun to root for!

With the way the comps and the twists worked out, there is not much they could have done. The best they could do was suck up to Jag and try to become his priority over Matt. Even if they had Bowie, I don’t think much would have changed as Bowie always would have gone with the person who was winning the comps as that is the kind of player she is. America had to take the shot as she had no chance with that group. Cory had Izzy to an extent but Cory had become less of a priority to her. He was still behind Cirie, Jared and Felicia. If Cory stuck with that group, he would likely still finish behind Cirie, Izzy, Jared, Felicia, Matt and probably Blue and Meme. He was still destined for 8th place. I also think they might target Cory as a bigger threat before people like Bowie Jane.

Hard to agree with that. It’s like saying Victoria is the most essential part of 16. Izzy was playing for runner up and an invite to the cookout, and that losing attitude combined with her actual attitude drove me crazy.
Izzy was the most frustrating person to watch on big brother. She had zero intention to win after she saw Cirie and could have easily saved herself with the information she had when she was up for eviction, but decided to not play the game.

Obviously, I'm speaking with the benefit of hindsight, but America absolutely refused to work with the Crossroads (Cory/Cirie/Izzy/Jared) alliance, and that was ultimately the only real chance of a counter to Jag/Matt/Bowie. Cory had enough sense to try and straddle the middle of those two groups and then use the whole 7 Deadly Sins to turn Matt and Jag against them, but he wanted to do it a lot later into jury.
America's campaigning against Izzy turned into a "got to do it now" thing, and I think even Cory admits his game was over at that point.
I think your memory is off. America's name was always being thrown around by Cirie, Izzy, and Jared. Why would she think that would be a successful path. The reason Cory flipped Izzy week is because he found out Matt was closer to Cirie than he was and Jared had been acting shady for weeks. Cory has never said the Izzy move lost him the game. He knew he had to do it because he foubd out Cirie trusted Matt more than him. America def didnt force his hand. America was playing her game for herself not Cory and she was in a worse position at the time. Did she say too much at times? Yes. But so did everyone else. It was her position and the house's disdain for her (not deserved) that made everyone point their finger.
America was incredible casting. One of the rare players since I started watching live feeds to actually consistently make me laugh out loud while watching feeds. I think she just gets swallowed up by bigger personalities and she’s not the most outwardly social or strategic. I would love to see her on Traitors or honestly just hosting more podcasts would be great.

Funny girl with spunk. I like her online presence too but in my opinion she didn’t bring much to the season. Barely played any game. Was too stubborn to adapt or be entertaining about it. i'd like to see her come back again, only problem is I don't know how they would really make that work. they could do a couples thing where they bring back couples and I would love to see both her and cory back. so that could be fun
Absolutely loved America and watching her and Cory try to navigate the house. Would love to see her back and loved that she was on The Challenge! I was rooting for her and Leroy. She does something right because she really knows how to get insecure men fired up about her on both shows lmao, I definitely think she’ll be invited back to The Challenge and I hope she takes them up on it and shows some of those people the firey and feisty side of America.

I was so upset because I remember on Twitter half the people HATED America. However, after Cory went home she was quite literally the only person left who was targeting Matt and Jag, she by far and away had the best CF of the season. Her going off on Jag twice was amazing. I unfortunately don't think production liked her so I doubt we'd ever see her again but I would be delighted to bring her onto another season

That’s a lie. She has been watching since season 6. Also, she was on BB twitter for years and has been an avid live feeder for years. I would go so far and say she is probably one of the biggest super fans ever to be on the show. She would watch live feeds at her work and stay up late watching them.

I would argue America needs Cirie to be entertaining. America is entertaining as an underdog. No Cirie means Family Style runs the house. People would hate this as evidenced by people hating Jag, Matt, FBJ running the game in the second half. And America only liked working with people that she liked. Meaning she probably doesn’t flip as she is working with the power structure. Then people would probably not be entertained by her as much. The Underdog Effect is a big part of her likability.
Basically, people like Cirie are needed for people like America to have any opposition for their likability to shine 😂
This. America wanted to work with Family style bad and she would’ve been a number. She wasn’t going to penetrate that trio of Reilly, Blue and Jag (with Matt being an hm.) And she would’ve been a casualt honestly of someone who just letting them steamroll.

Agreed and I stan. I loved and identified with her so much that I actually got a cameo from her after the season. What she said meant a lot to me. She actually lives in my city now. It’s so crazy to see her posting my favorite TJ Maxx and etc!

Completely disagree, every time she was on screen I left the room! She is the reason (+others) I did not watch that season, saw 4 or 5 episodes then waited for the finale! She is awful!

BB25 DID NOT HAVE INEQUITABLE COMPS!!!!
I wish people would stop pushing this narrative. They reused most of the comps from previous seasons and they still brought them back for BB26/27.
The cast of BB25 for the most part were incredible chokejobs. There was multiple times when a player that wasnt Jag/Matt/Bowie/Cam, came within an inch of a win and blew it. These people lost a whole house vs Cam on a QUIZ, BUTTON HOLDING, PUZZLE comp. Cirie basically threw F5 HoH after dominating the whole comp by eliminating Felicia for some reason. Bowie won multiple quiz comps that came down to tie breakers vs Felicia.
So many potential game changing HOHs came down to the wire. BB25 was not inequitable
Tell me again how it’s not inequitable for them to have had a comp that uses audio clues when they have a deaf person on the cast

Every all-star season on any show or series needs minimum 2 attractive girls on the cast. This could satisfy that requirement.
