It's been a life long dream to make it over here. Thanks to a quick 36 hour back and forth across coasts for business, I had a few hours to venture down and soak this place in. Of course I bought a couple of the published Pocket Poets books and a short, oh, and a few stickers. What an amazing place!

  • I remember my first time as an adult in the United States. I was broke, hiking up the CA coast. I was on my way to a hostel in San Francisco. Walking endlessly through the streets I smiled as I saw the City Lights sign. I looked down on the ground and saw a half smoked cigarette, picked it up, lit it and breathed in America.

    That's fucking beautiful, man

  • Aaa i get the feeling amd took the exact same pictures haha if you ever go back, you should visit the bar next to it that some of the beats visited in the past, it felt surreal sitting in there even though it was kinda stinky and the employees were kinda rude , honestly added to the surreal feel

I thought about it but found a better option hahaha

  • A trip to SF has always been on my list but, sadly, at this point in my life I know I’ll never get there. I can say that Allen and I have walked some of the same streets, and his father was my aunt’s HS English teacher. City Lights looks like the coolest place on earth, and I’d be like the proverbial kid in a candy shop. Lucky you! Thanks for posting those great photos! 😎
