Alaskan here. In order for most people to truly appreciate the size of this guy you’d have to give it some comparative perspective. Like a fully grown horse standing next to it. As kids we once fed a large moose cabbages. From the second floor balcony of our house.
might sound chicken, but if that guy steps up to the edge of the shore, i'm gonna be nope-out immediately.. something tells me he can probably run THRU water faster than I can paddle...
Bears for sure, but i haven’t seen moose aggressively demanding food from humans. Mostly they act like really large deer, which they kinda are. They show up wherever there’s a food source but don’t attack unless they feel threatened or are protecting their young.
That said, your point is very true, don’t feed wildlife. My only defense was we were just kids and didn’t know better.
Moose are nocturnal. They have poor eyesight but rely on scent, constantly running (sometimes miles a day), and have teeth that never stop growing, requiring chewing to keep them trimmed. They are solitary animals known for hoarding food in their expandable cheek pouches, and they have a life expectancy of 2-3 years.
I lived in Newfoundland Canada for a number of years working in assistive mobility products. Many of my clients (para or quadriplegics) were from moose/car accidents. You hit a massive bodied animal like that on tall skinny legs, it lands on the windshield and crushes you. One client told me after hitting one he was conscious and could still feel his extremities but pinned underneath it, and then it thrashed its head and he felt his neck snap. I avoided driving on the highway after dark

Facts.
Never a banana around when you need it.
Nope. No banana trees in Alaska that I’m aware of.
Whoa! Seriously? Holy smokes!
They're around 6ft tall at the shoulders.
Why did you have cabbage on the second floor?
Made me laugh
Hahah that was the cabbage storage level. Carrots were up even higher so we settled for cabbage.
I don't even want to know how large the rabbits were.
You know they say that if a moose runs into someone that doesn't have food is when it becomes aggressive because it expects to be fed by human beings
A moose once bit my sister.

They are mean and can walk on water - back away!
Love how he was hiding behind that huge tree at first.
Couldn’t see him at all until he moved 🙄!!
My sister was bitten by a møøse!
Incredible footage, thank you for sharing this. I had a moose that ran along my vehicle on an old dirt Rd. It was absolutely massive!!
That's a big boy.....nice animal.
Poop in my pants has entered chat lol
Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit outta the hat!
Again?! That trick never works!
A møøse once bit my sister
Is this an especially aggressive version of moose?
That big boy was hidden behind that sapling!
Magnificent animals
Beautiful!
I used to meet this kinds out with my horse, that was a bit scary sometimes.
You’re gonna need a bigger boat!

they live way longer than 3 years.
Maybe I'm thinking of a hamster then. I get the two confused.
It was quite lucky to see it at such a close distance.
nice
They’re so big it’s incredible
Is there a season of the year when they are more aggressive?
Yeah, mating season!
He’s a big boy
He’s huge! How come I didn’t see him till the last second?!?
I finally understand why that invader zim "room with a moose" episode was so terrifying.
He doesn't appear to be happy!?
What a good looking fella!
Smol boy
Big ass bull moose. Dang.
Nope
What is the music?
Beautiful Beast
Wow
I would die to see a moose
I hate it when these humans come to my swimming spot
I see what you’re doing human. Yeah, back up. Stay in the water and we’ll all be better.
Oh, filming me are you? Here you go then. I'm magnificent!
"Hey, let's go over to that shore over there and......nope."

How tall is a moose compared to human height?
Moose meat is delicious but it’s not something I’d ever hunt or even want to see in person
