I'm an audiophile. I can't do that. I need the highest possible quality at all times. Just today I repurchased an album I already owned because I found it in 24-bit/96kHz on Qobuz. (It was only 16-bit/44.1kHz on Bandcamp)
Okey let me be more specific. I need to have the highest possible quality lossless releases at all times. If an album is only available in lossy formats, I won't bother getting it.
Having a bandcamp or Ampwall is pretty essential to me for discovering new smaller bands at this point, if only to prove that it's not AI generated lies.
It's the second thing i ask someone, right after "physical format?"
If its only on streaming, its basically inaccessible to me. I'd rather just directly give someone money and have them send me their untagged .wav files
I always upload all my music to Bandcamp so I can make sure I actually get ignored everywhere

When that happens I tend to immediately check HDtracks, Qobuz, and OTOTOY. If it's not on any of those I just give up.
Maaaaaybe, if i want it bad enough, i'll check YouTube. But even then its just so i can rip it to a format I actually use

I hate when artists do that, then no platforms that sell it in lossless 😄 just "streaming"
I release on Bandcamp first. I always suggest to other artists to put their stuff there too and I won’t shut up about it either. 🔥
