I have already reported it to ncmec but the site purports to have "teen" "content" but when opened is some kind of horrifying CSAM distribution forum where the only posts seem to be an administrator posting links to file host sites with EXTREMELY questionable OR outright illegal names. It was unlike other sites mentioned here, as there were no users posting. I don't know what to make of it at all. I haven't kept track of the sub as of late but I do not think anyone as mentioned this after a cursory search of the sub.

I don't really understand how something like this is just sitting online but hopefully there could be some coordinated effort to take it offline, though I'm only seasoned in reporting, so I will leave that up to mods.

I was using a vpn when i encountered it and a few of file host links that I also reported to their host sites through their internal abuse report (so presumably they will take them down) but I am FREAKED over exposure as is.

  • I found a similar website on the clear web about eight or so years ago, (if you can associate it with a phrase/sentence or an acronym were probably thinking about the same one.)

    My friends and I reported it to the FBI cyber tip line and it took a year or so for anything to be done about it, and then when it was taken down within months it was back up again with the same name under a different URL

    I eventually came to the conclusion that it was a Honeypot operation ran by the police to gather information on the people who post there, but that might be wishful thinking.

    You may know this but there is a podcast called Hunting Warhead that discusses the intricacies and ethics of these kinds of sting operations, which actually aren’t legal everywhere (a lot of them operate out of Australia iirc). Big CW for the podcast, it’s not an easy listen, but I did learn a lot and hearing it made me feel more determined to keep reporting.

    Yeah!, very familiar with it as an Australian, given that it was one of our state governments running the website that the podcast is based around, absolutely morbid, disgusting and fascinating listen.

    Theyre not hosted here, the guy happened to be Australian but was doing most of his abuse and business in another country, though it was our Queensland police who took over the website and ran it for a year.

    I don't think this kind of thing is particularly common. There are barely any cases and they are all very limited in the time a government operated them, and seem to be almost exclusively dark web sites. I could certainly be wrong, but I don't understand the utility of a government furthering the spread of this stuff for a few arrests.

    More likely is that these kind of sites are trying to make money off of sickos, as they have ads and links to pay them for "premium". They are likely sometimes copied when they get shutdown (simliar to how a certain anon site just keeps getting awful copies), and their formats are likely copied by copycats in countries with looser laws.
