As someone who uses heat guns (powerful ones) almost daily at work (I am a van conversion technician, body kits, cutting windows/sliding doors out and building leather racing seats) using a good quality heat gun isn't as easy at it look, they make things real, real hot and really quickly lol.
Absolute caution is needed. It is very much doable with a heat gun but if going that route OP is better off having someone who works with them do it for him.
My company has 1 truck that the belt was installed flipped once before it reaches the top where it comes back to go over your shoulder, and last I checked that thing sawed about halfway through the handle to climb in the truck, wild stuff
Yeah - replace the panel
Hair dryer or heat gun.
A heat gun will sort it quicker but will require greater caution. You can score a basic one for $20 - $25. They're handy to have really.

Thanks mate. That is a textile part. Will it work? I can give it a try with a strong hair dryer we have.
Watch some of those videos. Moderate heat restores the mould.
