I think I’m into pet play but I’m not 100 percent sure if I am. I’ve seen a few things and how it can be sexual or nonsexual or both and I think I’m a bit of both.
I know there’s probably quite a bit about pet play I should know that I don’t know anything about but that’s why I’m making this post so I don’t say I have a kink that I don’t have and I just need tips or advice on how to know if I’m into pet play or not.

I noticed that pet play for a lot of people makes them feel cared for and looked after and I think that’s what really drew me to it. Having someone who will look after me and care for but still be stern and keep me in my place similar to a way someone would treat their pet

Sometimes you don't know until you try! I didn't think I would be into pet play until I tried on a muzzle and apparently my eyes started to sparkle and my partner immediately bought it. I thought I would be into nipple clamps (they're so pretty!) but it's a pain that I find almost impossible to parse. So give it a go! You don't need any fancy equipment to start trying out being a pet. Just look into how that animal acts, what they eat, how they're cared for and start trying it out. We had someone here months ago who wanted to try out being a guinea pig and another a hedgehog. So don't feel limited to cat or dog either, if being a parrot sounds like your jam, give it a go.

You can be all of them or swap between them. There's no rules that means you have to stick to just one.
I’m exploring pet play, but I don’t take on a specific type of animal. For me, it more about the feeling of belonging and ownership, and power exchange. Examples: I’ve expressed an interest in being collared clicker trained during scenes, but I don’t want to eat off the floor from a bowl. I love kneeling at my Master’s feet when we watch tv or something, but have no interest in wearing ears or a tail. I kind of love the idea of asking permission to sit next to him and waiting for direction- not in a “slave” sense, but in a “beloved pet” sense.
