If you got a 9070XT for just $530 then god damn I need to start randomly walking in and stop checking their website for open box returns (I check 6 online stores daily, the best deal I've seen is $665 USD, but in CAD because I'm Canadian but near enough to drive over if there's a deal. Usually even open box items will cost more than that lol).
The i5 12600K is still a beast. There is a little bit of a bottleneck in a few games but I still saw an overall big performance jump at 1440p with the 9070XT and a few games are able to keep the GPU completely maxed out. I want to wait for AMD’s Ryzen 11 series X3D chips and RAM prices to go down before I upgrade my CPU, but right now the 12600K still holds its own with AMD’s flagship GPU.
LOL that’s what it was paired with for testing, I just took it out and thought it’d be hilarious to put with my old reliable FX, the 12600k honestly held its own
I got the same Powercolor card, but as a 9070. The card is great, but the shroud standoffs just broke after less than a month of use, and I had to use duct tape to keep it together. Great card, just wish the shroud wasn’t so cheaply made.
That cpu will choke se hard you'll need to upload it to PH.
That said: I suggest trying cyberpunk 2077 for the lolz
Doom is also a great chance for it to shine.
Say what you want about the FX8350 but mine was such a reliable chip, paired with my Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 it lasted me many years before i decided to upgrad
used to own a gigabyte and shappire rx 570 too!, tried crossfire and while it worked, it wasn't worth it, i also played half life alyx on vr somehow on it, kinda laggy but still playable, overclocked cpu up to 4.8ghz and my electricity bill was very high, never overclocked cpu again lol, currently it has a 1080 ti for ai stuff and a gt 1030 for server video output
Bruh my 3900x was already bottlenecking my 6950xt. Upgrading to a 5800x3d gave it a huge boost. Can't even imagine the amount of bottlenecking with this build lmao.
I got the exact same RX 9070 XT, $580 at Microcenter and I sold my RX 6700 XT for $250. Loving it so far.
Edit: and I was worried I was bottlenecking mine with a 12600K!!!! You’re a madman for pairing it with an FX chip!!!
Got mine for 530 before Christmas at MC, I’m just now playing with it

The rare Intel/AMD CPU/GPU combo?? Waow
Yes I know I’m deranged
Shock horror!!
Jokes aside, very solid rig! I was very tempted to go Alder Lake for my rig, it's very possibly the last "good" Intel generation.

Well i guess my i3 12100F + RX 6600 combo is rare then...

Mine in my PC rn

Youll need an 8k monitor to not bottleneck the gpu lmao
1440p the best I can do 🥲
It is a very cool looking motherboard though. Love the red colors on it
I had that same motherboard with a FX 9590 and 32gb of g skill ram.
Was a beast of a machine for a good 10 years (2014 to 2023)
Probably will work properly only in 4k
Not even 4k, this chip cant reach 60 fps in most new games.
If not exactly 60 but very close to it i believe
Pcie 2.0 and 50% weaker IPC than i5 8400, God of bottleneck
I think my FX-8350 board had pcie 3.0
Asus Sabertooth?
It was a Gigabyte board. I can’t remember the model anymore.
I mean of course a $200 CPU from 2012 that is renowned for its bad performance is going to have weaker IPC than any CPU coming 5 years later...
Lowkey if yall want any benchmarks ask 😅
Hit me with any benchmark you can get, I want to see how much of a tight bottleneck death grip that shit is
Test cyberpunk on ultra preset no RT 1440p please haha
Forget trying to bottleneck on image quality, run it at 480p with highest FSR and see what maximum FPS the CPU allows.

Benchmarks when?

Over 6 years it was my primary PC it never let me down, it only felt slow the moment I went back to it from my 12600k
oh hey i also got that mobo and cpu! except it's now a server lmao
It looks so good, especially paired with the red devil 580 I have
used to own a gigabyte and shappire rx 570 too!, tried crossfire and while it worked, it wasn't worth it, i also played half life alyx on vr somehow on it, kinda laggy but still playable, overclocked cpu up to 4.8ghz and my electricity bill was very high, never overclocked cpu again lol, currently it has a 1080 ti for ai stuff and a gt 1030 for server video output
You'll triple your fps when you finally upgrade that CPU :D
I Have a 12600k it’ll get paired with, which I’ve been holding out hoping that Bartlett lake realease actually happens
Bottleneckdozer
FroZENdozer
You got the OG corsair vengeance RAM, I had the same in blue lol
Bruh my 3900x was already bottlenecking my 6950xt. Upgrading to a 5800x3d gave it a huge boost. Can't even imagine the amount of bottlenecking with this build lmao.
i think i love you
i wish my C5FZ didnt die. i ran it with a 1090T and a titan Xp
