Someone hit and ran my parked car and dented front my fender. Now it scrapes the tire when I hit any bump, so I haven’t been comfortable driving it. Until I can get the new parts in/on, is there a way to pop it back out effectively?? Thanks in advance!

Also that “crack” is actually the paint that’s coming off in a chunk, not the fender itself.

  • It’s not just the paint, it’s filler (Bondo) that is cracked. Just fyi.

You should be able to find an aftermarket fender online for <$100, you’ll just need to get it painted.

No it’s paint, it’s already flaked off lol

Well, I won’t argue, but that is cracked filler.

You can remove the fender liner and bang on the backside with a hammer. Not ideal but you should be able to free up some space for the tire that way. Be prepared for more filler to bust and flake off when you do that.

Noted! I apologize, when I think bondo I imagine the maroon goop lol. Where as under the flake is flat, seemingly unaffected, grey. But I understand what you’re saying.

I appreciate the advice! And warning

Some fillers go on colored and dry gray to let you know when they’ve hardened and are ready for sanding. Good luck with it!

Oh interesting, I didn’t know that. Thanks dude!

Oh yes, I intend to get a new fender. It’s just so I can drive the car until the part comes

  • If you just want it drivable till you get parts you could probably pull it out far enough by hand. Put on some work gloves so you don't cut your hands. Put a foot on the tire, brace your back, and just dead lift it essentially. Also, you're missing the fender liner.

Ok thank you for the advice. Yes, I know about the fender liner, that was a separate scenario. I hit some road debris and it took my fender liner and took that chunk out of my front bumper if you can see it in the pics. I intend on getting a new bumper, liner, fender, and bracket. But it’s gonna take some time w the holidays. So I just need the quick fix for now.

Completely understandable. Just please, don't hurt your back. Thats the last thing you need. If it doesn't seem like its going to budge try to lever a 2x4 against the tire or a ball bat. If all that fails I think someone else mentioned calling around to a shop to see if they would take a slide hammer to it. Many shops are willing to take a few minutes to help you out, especially as it could bring you back as a potential customer.

  • slam that shit out with a mallet and call it a day, i've seen far worse things on the road.

  • Just go by your neighborhood body shop and see if they could slide hammer it to push it out on the wheel well so you can drive it.

Also called a Morgan knocker with a big hook that goes up where the wheel well is and will push it out instantly very fast.

It's not going to look nice but it'll get you on the road

Oh ok! I’ll make some calls tomorrow. Thank you for letting me know that

I would just drive by preferably not around lunch time lol. They're not going to really be able to tell you much by phone they're going to want to see it.

    That makes sense.

  • Could also roll it out with a aluminum bat look at fender rolling on YouTube

  • Get a new panel that one isn't worth the effort and money to fix. Find one for your make and model, sometimes you can even get them with the same paint
