I've got 2 pepper starts if anyone wants to pick them up in North Austin. I believe they are Murasaki Purple but there's a small chance they are Cheiro Roxa.
I'm looking for a white black berry cutting. I can offer cucumbers and eggplants I grew in my garden. I am also willing to pay. My goal is to root my own rather than buy the whole plant.
I’m looking for passiflora affinis (not incarnata). I can trade butterfly weed, green milkweed, or artemisia filifolia sand sage seeds (which I got off Etsy).
I was snacking on some last year on the eastern end of the Latta Branch Greenbelt across from Dick Nicholas Park. Catch them fruiting and harvest a few (they were plentiful last year).
I got an incarnate this spring transplanted to my patio saved from a construction site. I'm excited. Good luck!
I have a large space (few hundred square feet) in my backyard that I would like to garden in but it's a big space to do solo and I don't have much experience. Currently working on a big composting project and hoping to be ready for the fall.
I have outdoor space and a truck to pick up materials. If someone would like to help by providing seeds, starting seeds indoors, providing greens for the compost, stuff like that I'm happy to share my space. I'm in Kyle.
I have 2 very healthy agave that need new homes. Medium pictured also larger one (can only post 1 photo but I can send larger photo). $20-$30 each not including containers. Have some pups @$5 each. Located in 78704 DM if interested. Thanks!
I have a set of 6 2FT Barrina T8 grow lights for sale in North Austin. I got them off Amazon last year and just had the chance to open them only to find they're too big for my shelving. $50 (got them on Amazon for $60)
Not sure if you were able to get a fig. In the event you haven’t, HEB sold Celeste figs last year for $15.99 I think, and when they get to clearance it was $5.99 I think.
No offers yet. That’s good to know, thank you. I’ve seen several $10 figs on fb marketplace too.
In 20 years I want to look at my huge fig and remember that I traded a flame acanthus for it, and that it came from so and so’s garden in east Austin, and its mother tree is home to some of those wild parakeets, and yada yada yada. There’s no story about the plants at the store.
Aw I wish I could get you a cutting from my mom’s tree, but it’s up in Dallas. That tree came from a cutting my dad took from his parent’s tree in San Antonio. My cousins and I used to climb the tree in SA and spend hours in there, pretending that it was a house and different branches of the tree were different rooms in the house. It was so big to us, we couldn’t imagine a bigger tree and named it “Zeus.” That tree got sick a few years ago, and was all but cut down. I still believe that was the biggest fig tree I’ve ever seen. My dad was obsessed with making cuttings of the original tree and had given out a lot to family and friends over the years, so Zeus lives on through the cuttings. My dad has now passed, but those trees remind me of him and so many fun memories from childhood.
That’s what I’m talking about! What a wonderful story. Isn’t it amazing to have a relationship with a tree? Someone gave me a fig sapling today at a swap. I hope it has a life like Zeus!
I hope so too!! 💖 And congrats on the new tree! I’ve always wanted a garden of plants that have come to me with their own stories. So I totally get it! If for whatever reason your sapling doesn’t take, let me know, I’ll see if my mom can bring me a couple cuttings of the fig tree on her next trip down. I’ll try to get them rooted for you!
I would offer you a Celeste cutting, but I’m out in Cedar Park and I doubt you’ll want to come this far. But if you were to, I also have some 2nd generation 100 sweet tomato seedlings I could give you.
Thank you so much for the offer! Tomorrow morning I’m going to the Oak Hill plant swap and I’m hoping I’ll get lucky there. It’ll be fun either way. If I can’t find one though I could probably make it up there!
I have a free metal trellis if anyone is interested. It was at the house I moved into so not sure how long it's been outside but it is a bit rusty. Also have a 8'1.5" x 2'3" pallet and multiple plastic pots (the ones plants come in from nursery) in sizes from 4in to 2gal.
Do you still have trellis? Are you near Kyle by chance? I broke my back and driving is out! But I need a trellis and this one is lovely and not too wide! It’s perfect.
That would be wonderful! Thank you so much! Let me know and I will DM you my address. I’m so far behind in my yard it’s terrible but pain wins over gain these days! I’m going to get my seeds started for this trellis! I’m so excited! You are so kind!
I'm looking to get rid of some tropicals and pre-bonsai stock as I am moving please DM if you'd like pics and info on any of the following that I have:
Pre-Bonsai:
Two premnas
Two green island ficus (one is really cool trunk and root wise tbh)
A penis shaped juniper
Small clump of willow leaf ficus
Sweet acai
Tropicals:
Small varigated scheflers/Hawaiian umbrella trees (pot has three of them)
Mystery plant that I think is a Five Star Orchid but unsure
Small snake plant and small fiddle leaf fig
Succulent:
Fockea edulis (really cool caudiciform, I love the species)
Small dioscorea elephantipes (another cool caudiciform but an incredibly slow grower)
Also might have some misc cacti and succulents from my collection around that I'm cool with parting with but would need to check and decide if I can part with them lol
i have a ton of vegetable seeds for anyone interested, can post specifics (kale, peppers, spinach, tomatoes)
unfortunately my apartment porch is basically all shade and cannot grow much, would love to pass on to someone who can!
I know that you posted this like 3 months ago, but do you have any chive offshoots by chance? I am restarting my herb garden and would love to add some!
Hi I’m honestly not too familiar with this community and it’s related goods but I have a vitamix fc-50 composter that would be great for someone’s project. New in box. Thanks! Willing to negotiate on price but it’s already priced to sell!
Cuttings of "everbearing" yellow fig.
Chile pequin for seed extraction.
Purple hyacinth bean (seed)
I can also dig up some dewberry or passionflower/maypop if desired. Incarnata. Have only transplanted these in the spring, so I have no idea whether it will work.
Hi all, I love Passiflora! I have P. caerulea, edulis (purple and var. flavicarpa but idk which ones are which), incarnata, 'Incense', lanuginosa, lutea, and ligularis (too hot to grow here without climate control here in the summer but I have seeds and seedlings if you're interested and have a good setup). I recently got some seeds for setacea, vitifolia, and alata x phoenicea which I will be germinating soon.
I'm looking to expand my collection, so if anyone is willing to trade for cuttings/seeds of other Passiflora species/hybrids please let me know! Thanks
There's quite a bit of conflicting information on the internet across blogs and forums and whatnot concerning the self compatibility of Passiflora incarnata, but this paper published recently suggests that most if not all P. incarnata are self incompatible. I think it might be a cross pollination issue, especially since Austin sits along the western edge of its range and wild ones seem somewhat sparse here. (Plus, since AFAIK nurseries grow these from cuttings, finding genetic variation outside of hunting for wild ones can be a little hard. Also, lot of the times Passiflora 'Incense', which produces sterile pollen, gets sold labeled as "maypop"/incarnata.)
When things start warming up again next year, if you don't end up finding a pollen donor, maybe we could exchange some 👍
Free to a good home: I've got to thin out my yellow cannas. I stumbled upon the magic/made the mistake?)\ of giving them a dedicated soaker hose. Here's the yellows in their earlier glory (they're definitely on the decline now).
I will need to thin them out soon. I just haven't been feeling well, so I haven't gotten around to it. But I'll make a note to message you when I get them out of the ground, if that works for you.
I have a bunch of greggs mist flower that you are welcome to come over and pull out for transplanting. It is very hardy and butterflies love them! (But it will spread, please come).
I've been cloning pothos for a few weeks now and I don't know where to sell them, but this seems like a good place. I was thinking about $5/mature clone with topo bottle. 3-4 in a small glass vase looks fantastic, but I am just selling the individuals. DM me for info.
Hey i'm sorry i totally missed this. Yep i still have it! I'm super busy through Monday but if you DM me for pickup next tues/wed/thurs its yours. I'll provide pics.
I have a decent amount of cacti and succulents. As well as native pollinator plants( sages/salvias, flame acanthus, and a few rose types) that I'm happy to take cuttings from for trade.
If you're interested in a propagated tropical Hawaiian pink guava tree (first batch should be ready sometime before next summer), message me to be added to a list. Probably will range $20 - $50 depending on size (1-3 feet). I recommend that they stay in pots (i.e., wintered inside), as anything above ground will die during freezes.
Is anyone interested in tradescantia zebrina or silver inch plant. Wandering dude. It’s taken over my entire yard. Free
[deleted]
I’d love one if you still have one. my favorite type of flower.
are you growing then inside or outdoors?
Outdoors. They like a fair amount of sun, and incarnata can really sprawl. Send me a message if you're interested.
I'd love to have a straight incarnata and I need to go downtown tomorrow morning anyway.
Send me a message!

Anyone got anything to trade for a Texas madrone?
Where can one get a lot of mulch or take some or my downed trees to get mulched around Austin?
You can get free munch at recycle center
Have you looked up chip drop? Also the Austin recycle drop off has free mulch.
Chip drop is great when you don’t need mulch for 3 weeks lol
I’d like to do a plumeria cutting exchange. Mine is white, yellow, pink. The cutting has already rooted. The pic is when I first planted the cuttings.

Yeah! Its mom is a young tree from Houston. It was a gift from Texas Garden Guy and I found some videos of his fig tree on his youtube channel!!
Nice!! Wow it traveled quite a ways from Houston. Do you know what variety it is?
Brown turkey. I’m learning a lot about figs because of this so I might grow more varieties in pots

Hi I’m honestly not too familiar with this community and it’s related goods but I have a vitamix fc-50 composter that would be great for someone’s project. New in box. Thanks! Willing to negotiate on price but it’s already priced to sell!
Offering up:
Cuttings of "everbearing" yellow fig. Chile pequin for seed extraction. Purple hyacinth bean (seed)
I can also dig up some dewberry or passionflower/maypop if desired. Incarnata. Have only transplanted these in the spring, so I have no idea whether it will work.
Porch pickup only, Cedar Park area.
DM to coordinate pickup.

do you still have purple hyacinths?
[deleted]
I can dig up some maypop and cut fig cuttings, DM to coordinate.
Thanks
Gotta check out P. Foetida, it's native and has protocarnivorous flowers
Totally agree with you, and I've since obtained two plants after posting the original comment :)
Honestly I think it smells really nice.
Yeah, Foetida is a harsh epithet, it smells a bit odd, but not rotting or anything
I have incarnata - it grows extremely well and flowers, but never seems to set any fruit - which is a disappointment. I do get many butterflies.
When things start warming up again next year, if you don't end up finding a pollen donor, maybe we could exchange some 👍
Is it too late to plant snap peas in Austin? What is the best vine variety?
I have an abundance of aloe pups for the taking.
Free to a good home: I've got to thin out my yellow cannas. I stumbled upon the magic/made the mistake?)\ of giving them a dedicated soaker hose. Here's the yellows in their earlier glory (they're definitely on the decline now).

What a stunning bed of flowers!
Ah damn! I forgot I was going to give out the tubers when I thin the beds. Thank you for the reminder.
Hi! What variety of zinnia is this?
Oklahoma Mix from David's Garden Seeds down in San Antonio. I might have mixed in some Parks Picks Purple seeds as well, but I can't remember.
Thank you🙂
I’m also interested in a handful of these if you have a lot when you think them. They might work where my laundry water drains.
I'll reach out. I'm hoping to get them out of the ground this week! It's been a real delay for me. ugh.
I totally understand! It’s so hard getting started on things sometimes.
I'm interested also if you still have any to spare. Thank you!
I'll message you when I get them out of the ground.
[deleted]
I will need to thin them out soon. I just haven't been feeling well, so I haven't gotten around to it. But I'll make a note to message you when I get them out of the ground, if that works for you.
I'd love to take some if you're still offering, depending on where you're located.
I'm over around ^20 and Anderson Mill.

I have found that grass (St. Augustine and Bermuda) actually likes a thin spread of mulch. Discovered this when I mulched a pathway in the yard.
Anyone in need of fill dirt? About a cubic yard, give or take.
I have a bunch of greggs mist flower that you are welcome to come over and pull out for transplanting. It is very hardy and butterflies love them! (But it will spread, please come).
No trade necessary unless you want to!
i need some of these! please! 💖
I would love some!
Hello! I’d love to take you up on this! I’ve got barely anything growing yet :)

Medium-sized agave in a 15-gal grow bag. I left it for dead back in april and it has fully recovered from transplanting. Springdale & Airport.
Edit: I should have clarified that i'm trying to give it away
is this still available? very interested!
Hey i'm sorry i totally missed this. Yep i still have it! I'm super busy through Monday but if you DM me for pickup next tues/wed/thurs its yours. I'll provide pics.
Is this agave still available?
awesome!! that works for me, i'll shoot you a message on tueday to set up a time to pick up. thanks so much!
I have cowpen daisy and winecup seeds
I have a decent amount of cacti and succulents. As well as native pollinator plants( sages/salvias, flame acanthus, and a few rose types) that I'm happy to take cuttings from for trade.

I have loads of plastic pots, all sizes
I, too, have lots of pots! I’m in Jonestown.
I have some aloe babies and mother of thousands plants for trade 🙂
Where are you located?

I would definitely trade a pair of mother of thousands babies for okra seeds
[deleted]
would LOVE the wood chips !
So sorry, I just saw this! I'll have another round soon; I'll message you when they're ready. How much do you think you will need?
Can I get in on the woodchip exchange?
Probably taking one truck bed
oh thanks! maybe just one truck bed ?
