Model data is still on teh far end of being super reliable, but all models are pointing towards west coast ridging and a fat trough forming over the east coast. This could bring the coldest temps of the year if it pans out. MJO will be entering phase 7 and 8 aroudn the 1st and 2nd week of January which also lines up. Phase 7 and 8 are desirable for potential storms.
I wouldn't bet the house on any of this, but I've got close tabs on it for sure.
Faaauuuuukk. This happens all the time and i hate it. We get a warm spike in January but week before my bday, it’s bitter and or wet on my birthday. The nature boy in me just wants to enjoy a hike or bike/scooter ride.

Dude, as someone with a January 12 birthday, I feel ya
I’ve prayed for times like these, I can hardly handle a 75 degree Christmas
Gotta laugh at "coldest temps of the year" a few days into the year! 🤣 But I know what you mean. Just made me chuckle. Bring on the SNOW!!!
