• Euro has a very similiar look. A NW Canadian trough is showing signs of breaking down, with a massive pacific ridge from Canada down to the lower west coast. This ridge is the lever for the very cold polar vortex to shift further south.

    As things look today we could be in for a very, very cold stretch of weather. These are more high level looks and it's way to soon to project any storms. However, the latest MJO shows us in a weak phase 8 aroudn the time of this vortex showing up. That is a look we'd want to see for potential of winter storms. I'd personally like to see a much stronger phase 8 when (and I should add IF the 500mb height anomolies hold true here) for any chances at not-dry wintery weather here in Athens.

    This is the best look we've seen so far, so fingers crossed!
