Below average temps in the central/eastern Pacific ocean point to a La Nina winter for the US, and that means we will likely see warmer temps and less rainfall here in the deep south.
That's not to rule out the chance of a random sleet or light snow event, and even crazier things have happened in La Nina winters, in fact last year's winter was borderline La Nina. But, I woulnd't hold my breath on us getting a repeat performance this year.
The graphic is for Dec-Jan-Feb. Jan-Feb-March is worse (warmer/drier). We will have a greater chance of seeing an early spring next year.
That's always a risk, probably more so with La Nina.
I hope we have a fair, stable spring. Farmers have had a really, really rough time this year thanks to that man. That leads to higher prices at the store and oh wait we're talking about weatherrrrr.
the graphic indicates above normal temperature and below normal precipitation. The text says the exact opposite. Seems they covered most of the options.
There were a lot of canes they just all got pushed out to the Atlantic. Personally, I'm grateful and probably so are a lot of folks from last year's mess.
Weather will always weather. December should be a bit cooler, but the ENSO pattern does point to increasingly warmer months as we go into spring next year. We may see 6" of snow randomly, might see none.

Early spring or false spring? Worst thing is warm feb/march weather only for all the new growth to get zapped. Same with fruit tree flowers

Look at which city and state is in the bottom right corner
Ah, thank you. I just assumed the office that produced the graphic was in that location.
Booo! Not a fan.
This was also supposed to be a “higher than normal” hurricane season and that was wrong. 🤷🏼♂️
