Hi guys. The other day, after a full night without sleeping, I finally went to bed around 8–9am. I was exhausted. Around 11am I became conscious and realised I was fully awake. I could hear my kids shouting and crying with their mother outside the room, and I noticed that “vibration / sleeping feet” sensation in my body.

So I thought: let me try to focus and see if anything happens. I’ve never projected before, but I stopped even trying about seven months ago. I was lying face-down, half of my face on the pillow and the other half slightly floating off the edge.

I started breathing deeply, and after about a minute I saw something. On the bottom-right of my closed-eye vision, a cloudy circular “opening” appeared. It opened and closed fast, and behind it I could see a dim pink light. At first I thought it was just my left eye slowly opening — that used to happen during meditation — so I tightened the left eye a bit to keep it closed.

Then I thought: let me move my eyes left and right quickly, because I heard on YouTube that some people use that trick for intuitive/closed-eyes vision. Nothing happened. A few seconds later the cloudy-edged hole opened wider and I could see into it. Inside, it looked like a tiny room — but the light was dim, like a soft moon-lit glow. Everything was pure fluorescent pink. I could see the corner of the room, the walls completely smooth and flat, like they were painted with a videogame shader or something straight out of Squid Game. No texture at all, just clean digital-looking surfaces. It lasted maybe 10 seconds and then it closed. I thought: damn, maybe I’m really deep. So I tried turning my “inner” body to see if I could project — but instead I physically moved. As soon as I realised I had actually turned my real body, I did that little smile you make when you feel stupid for trying something and messing it up. I was so tired that I just gave up and went to sleep. Later that night, when I woke up, I remembered the whole thing clearly. I remembered hearing my son shouting, the exact sounds, the YouTube tip about moving the eyes, and even tightening my left eye muscle to keep it closed. Only then I realised it made no sense to think that the “opening” I saw on the bottom-right could have been my left eye opening — that eye was on the opposite side of the pillow. That hit me only at night.

Also worth mentioning: the vision happened inside the darkness of my closed eyelids, not like a dream scene. I was clearly focused on the darkness behind the eyelids (especially the bottom-right area). And honestly, it freaked me out.

Any insight? I’m just curious.

It happened to me really like 2 weeks ago but today I saw the sub and decide to write but I'm usually lazy even for that

Btw I just posted on the recommended sub down in other comment.

  • If yiu look up liminal dreaming by jennifer dumpert you'll get an answer. Essentially you were really tired and drifting off to sleep. You hit what's called hypnogagia or the liminal state where you see colored stuff floating around the darkness of your eyes.

If yiu pay attention to the colored spots floating around they'll shift into either a face or a tiny video. If you relax and observe it yiu can slip into it and you'll become lucid dreaming wide awake. Eventually you'll fall asleep.

You can practice this to the point where you can do lucid dreaming for hours a day.

Very interesting. Yeah It started seeing some flashes. And ended up In the room experience but still fully awake and happy seeing it.

About hypnogagia I live it everyday when falling sleep or waking up. Like I heard people talking.
