• I am an atheist and this is a christmas tree.

I am Jewish and i second that

  • I lived there for several years. It was oft referred to by the locals in surrounding cities as 'Bradistan'. Good to see they're still living up to it.

    That’s another one down then.

I was living down the road in Huddersfield back in 2010 and people were already referring to it as Bradistan back then!

Fifteen years on, I can only imagine how much more true it is now.🫠

  • How scared are they that it'll get burned down if they acknowledge it's a Christmas tee? Truly a religion of peace and acceptance.

  • “in a world often divided, the tree symbolises our united city of Bradford”

    Er no. It symbolises Christmas.

  • I visited UK in 2022 and it (Bradford) (went cause someone ik lives there) is indeed Bradfordistan

  • They have to gate it in with riot fences to protect it from getting toppled or burnt. Very festive. Congratulations, UK.

ack to be fair thats fairly normal anywhere. You've always put up fences around the big trees to stop some idiot trying to climb it and knocking it over and themselves.

  • The people who try to do this shit to appease the people offended by Christmas trees aren't going to be spared when they're committing their monthly terror attack.

  • "Slogan from the delusionals"

  • The people at fault are...

The workers who printed the signs.

The city workers who put it up.

The people who insist that it is a multi-cultural tree with implicit and explicit threat of judicial, criminal and monetary repercussions for challenging the lie.

The people who enforce the lie despite knowing the truth.

The people who tolerate the lie to the point of cowardice and their own personal and cultural death.

The people who print the sign and put it up are ordinary workers just doing their job so that they don't lose it. They probably hate it just as much as you. Place your blame at the designers and the diversity consultants and the service managers within the council signing this rubbish off.

    Just following orders, eh?

Yes. These are just low level people, earning crap money. They don't have the luxury of standing on their soap box every time a job doesn't align with their principles.

Trust me, I hate it just as much as you but being mad at the people who get told to put the sign up is just moronic. You get yourself fired right before Christmas and somebody else puts the sign up anyway. Way to fight the system.

To work against the essence upon which your system/nation, that is a framework of laws and regulations derived from history(culture, religion etc.) is built upon is in the most literal sense treason - irrespective of intention. And it should be treated this way. People can kill themselves if they want to, but righteously signing others up to kill themselves to feel good about it. Righteously destroying the very society that allows for their ignorant existence without facing an ounce of consequence - thats truly disgusting and intolerable.

  • It's Bradford, nuff said. Remember there was a show on UK TV a while ago called "Make Bradford British" or something similar

  • Somebody needs to get a marker and just scribble over all that garbage. Also write chirstmas tree next to it.

  • "Oh boy, it's the first night of Hanukkah! Let's light the Multicultural candle!"

  • Why is one middle eastern bullshit religion more important than the other middle eastern bullshit religion?

Because Christianity is an evil white person colonizer religion and Islam is a religion held by the poor downtrodden POC, don't you understand? I mean, that's what they'd say at least.

  • The Christmas tree isn't Christian. It's pagan. It's been adopted by Christianity. But anyways...

I think changing its name is silly. Not because England "is a Christian Country"... It's not. It's a secular county. Even most priests agree.

It's silly because it actually destroys diversity. We have freedom of religion in the UK. You're free to be Jewish, Hindu, Muslim or any other religion. And you're free to celebrate your own holidays.

This would be like saying we need to call Eid Trees during Eid "Multicultural tree"

Keep Christmas tree a Christmas tree and enjoy your Eid tree.

Thank you. It's nice to hear from someone else who recognizes euro-paganism was a foundation of the Christian values. They just added more rules to it, and then forced the pagans to adopt those rules.

So, no Samantha. It is not Christian, it is our euro-pagan heritage at display. But, good job sticking your fingers up at the council. I'll give you that ;)

I live in the UK now but in my native tongue Christmas is still called Jul (from Yule) and many of our Christmas traditions have departed less from the Pagan (Norse in my case) roots than British Christmas.

Bet you have fun putting up your 'pagan tree', do you stick a giant warhammer on the top? Do you have a scene of Wodin on your mantlepiece and pray to Freya before tucking into your turkey?!

So the history behind why we celebrate Christmas in December is because the Catholic Church decided to adopt the Pagan holiday and make it Christian focused. This was a common way to convert people and crush Pagan religions.

We don't know if the Catholic Church's actions directly lead to Paganism dying out, but it definitely helped.

And on the other note, had the Catholic Church not adopted the customs in order to assimilate the people, we don't know if the December Pagan holiday or it's practices would still be around today.

It does annoy me how some people can get so butt hurt over the name "Christmas" just because they aren't Christian. A majority of Japan celebrates Christmas and only 1% of the country are actually Christian. They don't have a problem, why should anyone else?

You have cleverly discovered what "adopted" means. Well done.

  • Here before the mods ban this. (They pray Asmon doesn't this before they take it down)

  • Can society just fucking stop it with the goddamn virtue signaling?

  • It's technically a pagan holiday introduced by (church fathers) during Constantine rule to reframe it toward Jesus and ease conversion for the romans.

Britain is a skewed secular democracy.

  • It is a "cristmas tree" in naming, but the tree and decorating itself comes from paganistic beliefs. It is not related to cristianity or any of the books. Do you think it says in bible or kuran or any of the books to "thou shall put up a tree and decorate it" 🤣🤣

  • Christmas trees are actually a leftover from european pagan traditions, not Christian.

  • Bradford is basically a muslim dominated shithole in the UK.

  • Christian tree? Someone doesn't know their history...

Who called it a Christian tree? Read slower

She did, even though not directly Christmas tree -> Christmas is a Christian holiday, but I would not expect reading comprehension for a modern day asmon fan

    Sure she did buddy

  • Another day, another rage bait post in the sub

  • [removed]

Addition, like another one? And yeah, true, not the sub to find others that agree tho

Yes, it's very close to the Christmas tree.

And aye, politically I don't fit in this sub at all, but I try to spend time around people with politics I disagree with to avoid the echo chamber effect.

Damn they straight up removed you. For what????? And yeah, I do the same. Helps understanding everything, making sure to test and check my own views, and also to understand where people are coming from or dogwhistling to / sense the talking points and know what sorta stuff my friends or family are being fed.
