My town was super tiny, and had a tiny weekly newspaper. I remember one time Brad Pitt stopped at the cafe when he passed through. They had an article about it in the paper that week.
That’s pretty cool. The closest we got to this was Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington Whitley going to a pharmacy in a town nearish where we lived. Friends mum served them but didn’t realise who it was til she saw them on something later on.
"Naked man found in chimney," the most interesting article in the local paper of the small town I grew up in. I clipped it out and showed it around at school.

Last year several inmates from Louisiana escaped a correctional facility. Two of them got picked up in Walker County Texas. I live in Walker County and I thought it was hilarious. Huntsville is the county seat and also home to several Texas prisons.
WE’VE GOT HIM was the headline in the Napa Register at the end of September, 2005 after the man who brutally murdered two women in their home on Halloween night almost a year earlier turned himself into police. The whole city had been on edge, not knowing if it was a random killing, and if the killer might strike again, until he turned himself in. Turns out it was a targeted killing. The man was the then boyfriend, later, husband, of one of the women he murdered.
"How George Floyd Was Killed in Police Custody" and now more recently "Minneapolis is reeling after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman on the city's south side Wednesday morning."

A headline from my hometown: Operation Dirtbag: 9 arrested for smuggling hashish via airports.
Well, we had a serial pooper on ATMs a while back…

The Onion uses this headline regularly after mass shootings.

Oh gosh those are biggies. Given they’ve made international news.
