so my cat is breathing very quickly, at first it was fully up and down and now it’s in a different motion, he hasn’t eaten all day yesterday onto the 2nd day now, he’s lethargic and not really responding to pets or anything, he’s nearly 1, he’s normally VERY food oriented, like as soon as the cupboard opens he darts across the room and he hasn’t he just lay there, i tried putting it next to him on the couch and he just didn’t move, he keeps just going and either sitting or lying in the doorway of the living room and hasn’t gone upstairs in 2 days which he always does, even his face like looks worried.. its sunday now and the only place is the emergency vet where a consultation alone is £250 (i just had to go to the a emergency private dentist 5 days ago and pay £600 so as you can imagine money is tight but i am so worried and stressed) even my other cat (same age) has just left him alone and normally they are running around going crazy together.
i cant post the video i have of his breathing as it wont allow me, if anyone knows how i can then please do let me know!

Abnormal breathing, lethargic and not eating is an emergency. You need to take him to ER services ASAP.
he’s there now!
I unfortunately would recommend ER at this point. Look into Care Credit for 6 months no interest on big bills! You should be able to get it ASAP.
i’m in the UK, from what i’ve seen it’s a US company isn’t it? i don’t think i can use it
Oh gosh, I hadn't even thought of that. I wonder if there is something similar. 🤔 Maybe you could look into it just to rule it out?
Take him to an emergency vet NOW bc the breathing is an obv issue, but a cat not eating elevates the urea and creatinine in their bloodstream and it builds up and literally poisons their kidneys, death from renal failure follows 1-3 days later. Maybe the harsh breathing means this process has already started, so drop everything u are doing and take him to the vet NOW!!!!!
literally in the car now to emergency vets!!!
