My Gf and I are in town and potentially want to go to karaoke this weekend, was wondering if any where is fun/ a good vibe. We don’t like karaoke rooms, but other than that we are open to suggestions.
Crescent and baranof FOR SURE. Crescent if you like busy and dive bars and 100% certain every night, baranof if you like dive bars with 70+ year old bartenders and the ability to sing more.
Hula hula if you want a stage and a good sound system.
There’s octopus, monkey pub, time warp, the wash, Hattie’s, Jupiter, the hideout, twilight exit. But they’re not every day, they have specific days. I enjoy these types more because it feels more karaoke community based with people who really enjoy it and will pump you up as well.
I would skip Hula and Crescent, especially on a weekend. They’re very crowded and you may not get to sing or it will be standing room only type of thing. For awhile and potentially still Hula was charging a cover which I didnt love.
My favorites for community feel are Baranof, Rickshaw, Tarasco, 4Bs. There are some good other places but their karaoke may only be certain less popular nights (Little Red Hen).
Hula Hula and Crescent Lounge do Karaoke 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Love the Crescent but realistically you’re gonna sing one time all night. I recommend the Baranof in Greenwood!
This is the answer.
Oh god

+Tarasco in Ballard
The Baranof in Greenwood is legendary. Bring your spare liver.
Do you know what days they do it?
Every damn night
There’s also Shanghai Room directly across the street so you get another option if you want.
Uncle mo’s in downtown renton does fridays!
Orient Express is a good time if you want cheap drinks, good fried rice and to wake up with your ears ringing the next morning
St. John’s does karaoke on Thursdays and I think Sundays.
