Walked around today and went into a couple of them to use the bathroom and I saw all of them full of tourists. Half of them seem European tourists and a lot of Latin American tourists etc. No surprise the one on 55th and 6th Ave and the one at Bryant park full of it but the one on Columbus and the one on wythe ave too . What’s so popular about it? When I went into the one at 57th columbus circle their espresso machine was down and they advised them to go to blue bottle across the street and they all had that upset face.
It’s a familiar brand to them, just like when Americans go to McDonald’s in other countries.
Because they are all over Europe
I had no idea Joe and the Juice was a European brand until this thread. I thought “Joe” was some guy from New York lmao.
The “Joe” is because it’s slang for coffee.
Nor did I know that because as a person who’s never gone there my perception was that it is a pressed juice bar or something like that.
It’s both coffee and juices.
Same I just discovered this here on this post with you
The toilets flush clockwise there, so tourists from Australia and South America feel more at home.
Aussies when they see this
Sounds like a bootable offense
Really? Seems like a lot of money in top of nyc rents. Do you know if they use some kind of motor? Following
Tourists need places to pee, too
Why did you go to so many in one day? You reference five different locations.
Do you work for them or something? Is this market research? Odd
Because it’s danish.
The smell of that place - the combination of burnt coffee and sugary juice drinks - makes me wretch.
They like cardboard, obviously.
I know it's crazy but the first time I ever noticed a Joe and the Juice was in the airport in Iceland. I got a chicken sandwich and thought it was delicious. That was 2019. Then I started seeing them all over NYC - Upper East Side, the Oculus, etc. and I've been to at least 3 locations in NYC, but none of them were really that good. So maybe all the tourists have had really good experience with this chain at home and don't really understand it's mediocre here.
(Maybe it was mediocre in Iceland as well and I was just pleasantly surprised and really hungry)
First time I noticed them it was in Copenhaggen's airport, back in 2016. They are like the cool/hip version of Starbucks in Danmark. I think some of their flatbread sandwitches are actually really tasty. Coffee, is meh.
I like how 7-11 in CPH/Denmark/Sweden is actually somewhat "upscale". Like inbetween a Dunkin/Starbucks with pretty decent food.
I went to one in Miami before they came here. Because it looked good.

Apparently right now Trader Joe’s tote bags are very popular in Europe so when they come to the US they want to visit the stores
wrong Joe
