im aware that the answer is probably a combination of poor economic management, corruption, and sanctions, but i was just curious as to the exact nature of that economic mismanagement, like, the specific policies that have contributed to the current state of the iranian economy.
i'll also note that ive heard people claim the heavily sanctioned nature of iran's economy as being the biggest cause for the current situation. i was skeptical of similar claims when it came to venezuela (it's my current understanding, and feel free to correct it if i'm wrong, that in venezuela's case the sanctions just made an already bad situation worse), is it a similar case for iran or are the sanctions more of a primary reason than a secondary one?
