My check engine light just came on. Possibly the worst timing ever. I have an important trip to Philly the day after tomorrow. If I can't get it fixed tomorrow, I'm gonna try driving the 3 hours each way with the check engine light blaring in my face.

  • Electrical tape. Nuff said.

  • That's just gas vapor collection. It will probably run forever like that.

  • Its just the environment, fuck it (sarcasm). I'm OCD that check light and if you got a Stellantis vehicle it would be screaming "gas cap" too, would bother me.

  • It's important to Big Oil, and it's a big secret. If your gasoline can escape through evaporation, they can sell you more even if you don't drive. Plug it up with JB Weld and enjoy your savings.

  • Just check the Engine, that its still there and that. Then you should be good for a few hours of driving. If its still lighting up the next day just keep checking the Engine is there, they usually stay inside of the car, even in mating season then you can give it some Oil to lube it up.

  • Your really only need a chain and engine for a car, the rest is just quality of life stuff added after the 50's

  • I’m surprised its not in limp mode. I don’t know how you haven’t locked it up yet.

  • Not a big issue and strictly an emissions control problem and very minor. Nothing bad will happen if you drive it.

  • Remove battery cable, wait 5 minutes, reinstall, rinse and repeat as needed.

  • Probably just have trouble filling your tank
