/uj I also have OCD and it's not the kind where i'm obsessed with everything being perfect & correct, but i'm still pretty perfectionistic with some stuff; drawings included
/uj It's a struggle, ik. Do you also get the anxiety and physical aches/muscle tension of not doing it the "right" way? Because your post is the perfect visual representation of that process
I mostly get a bit distressed and feel like I NEED to fix it. i've kinda trained myself to push past that feeling and remind myself that i'm not forced to, especially for ruining "perfect" numbers
/uj holy shit this is so real. My wrists have gotten so bad over the years that perfection is nearly impossible so I've recently decided to make imperfection a part of my style. I think it fits the themes of my art better anyway.
uj/ what I do is I will draw whatever it is on a separate layer so that way I can make it as big/ as straight/ as whatever as needed. And then I resize and move it where it needs to be. IE, instead of drawing on the eye itself, I make a new layer, use the oval tool, cut it in half, reshape it to make it skinnier, shrink it, and move it to where it needs to be in the eye and merge layers.

Good to hear that you're overcoming it. Also just noticed your flair and can relate a lot
This is making your art worse

/uj absolutely epic music choice (RAIN WORLD REFERENCE RAHHHHH)
Lovely Arps & Kayava r really good, but I like Wind Chimes
Kayava and Evil Arp are my favorites, I haven't heard all of watcher's soundtrack yet tho
Deep Energy, Sky Islands threat theme & Stone Heads are themes where I always get excited when they start playing in game
(Sky Islands is complicated)
/uj embrace imperfection
/uj okay but it do be like that sometimes
Uj/ I always hated this back when I thought my art had to be perfectly perfect at school, now my lines and rendering are messy and I am loving it

I use sketchbook (use to be autodesk sketchbook pro) and that problem happens less with me but its still aggrivating
/uj the way i'm literally doing the same thing rn π
/uj So, how do I not do this?
Liquify tool, it's a lifesaver for those minor adjustments without going over the whole thing again
/uj train your lines, it's actually the only way to not deal with this type of stuff anymore
Be more okay with erasing

uj/ literally just use a fucking vector tool Iβm seething watching this
I have a weird loyalty to only using my fingers and rejecting the use of other tools for some reason
It's very important and everyone who looks at the art will definitely see it right away and kill me instantly
