Thinking of buying a water purifier and confused by all the mixed opinions online?

Instead of relying on specs or sponsored reviews, I used Urban Company Native M2 Pro and Atomberg Intellon side by side in real conditions.

I tested TDS, taste, flow, maintenance, and daily performance, so you can clearly choose the purifier that fits your water, usage, and budget.

Still confused? Drop your questions in the comments and I will help you out.

  • I have the atomberg one.. had a few.issuee with the solenoid valve and service is very hit or miss till you find the right person. When it works,it is pretty good especially the mixing of ro with uv only..

Yes. The purifier is solid, but support can be inconsistent.

  • I bought the Native M2 about two weeks ago.

The application is practically useless, except for displaying the TDS value. Other than that, it has no real utility.

The purifier comes with a plastic storage tank.

While researching, I couldn’t find even a single genuinely reliable review. Most YouTube videos are overly positive, and when you check the comments section, it’s hard to believe that 99% of users have only good things to say about UC water purifiers. It strongly feels like comment seeding (a term I recently learned).

I was previously using the HUL Eco Pureit, which suddenly stopped working. The motor failed within two years, and the repair cost quoted was ₹3,300. At that point, it felt like a complete waste, so I decided to throw it away.

I took a day to research alternatives, but almost all YouTube reviews on water purifiers seem to be brand-promoted.

I finally bought this mainly for one reason: the ₹5,000 maintenance cost once every two years seemed reasonable.

I’m yet to fully evaluate how well it performs, so let’s see how it goes.

Yeah, I agree. Most reviews online feel too positive. That’s why I tested them in real use. In the end, maintenance and reliability matter more than the app. Let’s see how it performs over time.

  • Can someone share detailed feedback of atomberg? I’m currently using drink prime and wanted to switch to a better one I’m confused between m2 and atomberg.

The tds in my society is very low already around 50 to 70 or something Drink prime makes it 12, hence i want to switch.

If your input TDS is already low 50-70, you don’t really need strong RO. That’s why Drink Prime is reducing it too much, down to around 12.

Between M2 and Atomberg, M2 feels safer because its TDS control and service are more reliable. Atomberg works well, but service quality can vary by area.

In your case, it’s better to choose a purifier that keeps minerals or properly bypasses RO, instead of focusing on brand hype. Over filtering is a bigger issue here than purification.

  • I recently purchased atomberg intellon. Super happy with the results. UC M2 was my choice first but UC disappointed with their service and installation enquiry. On the other hand atomberg was easy to reach and service person was available immediately.

Also user interface and functionality is better in atomberg. Adaptive water flow is amazing for fluctuating water source, the device adapts swiftly. It doesn’t use RO when source water is less than 100 TDS. Other purifiers use RO unnecessarily and filter wears off.

Look wise it is little big but the display and smart water flow is a win for me.

  • I was looking for exactly this, thanks for sharing.

    Glad it helped. :)
