After all, that's what we touch things with (remember, kid logic), so instead, she's using a loop hole that she's come up with to eat the cake while "not touching it."
Part of the joke is that she's still touching it, since you don't need to use your hands to touch things. However, she's a kid, so she doesn't really realize that.
