Oh my god, how am I supposed to avoid the coming laser damage? Does parrying even work? Should I press the sprint button and jump backward quickly just before it hits me? Or do I just have to hide in the shell and tank the damage? This laser is just too unfair!

Is there any tips to defeat this monster without losing HP ?

BTW, Is there anything special about the "Going Under 64" shell ? Easy to parry or high damage as a hammer ?

  • It’s best if you can isolate one at a time and stay at its legs to attack if you’re trying to kill them. They’re a massive pain though so you’re really better off avoiding them all together and making a run for it.

I did it the legit way my first play through, killed the first one you encounter and hid/ran the rest of it staying behind cover as much as possible. Their lasers are ridiculous and found tanking didn’t work for me.

2nd play through I just didn’t want to deal with them and gave kril a gun to clear them out.  Felt bad cheating but I play to have fun lol.

nahhh cheats are allowed on NG+ or second playthrough in my book

  • Going Under 64 is just a stronger version of the soda can shell - same ability but a bit stronger armor-wise iirc

    So it's good for weapon?

I particularly liked that particular umami ability so I used it a lot through to the end personally.

  • i would usually just wavebreak to their main body then beat them to death on the way back down, in ng+ though the whole section is a complete nightmare.

  • I was just playing this part today. The first two are not too bad to kill. They have pretty clumsy melee attacks when you're up close. I just wait behind a rock until it fires its shot then run under it and keep behind it while attacking the feet.

The electric eel ability also freezes them which helps get more hits in. I have my electric ability at level 3 which lasts longer and causes more damage.

If you're really good at dodging you can dodge just as it explodes and you won't take damage, but I rarely can do that.

However they overlap more in the second area and the cuttlefish in the area make it too hard to fight them head on, so it's probably better to just use cover instead. I haven't passed that part yet, but on the left side there seems to be cover with enemies guarding it that is designed to protect you from the laser crabs.

Oh ya, as for the 64 game shell, I didn't think it's special other than it boosts attack by 5. I personally use the conch shell that heals you but also takes shell health. It can tank a lot of damage or heal you quite a bit in a pinch.

I thought Valve is the best ?

It probably is, I'm just saying I prefer using the healing shell.

  • I just use the power from the among us shell. They lose the ability to track you

    Which shell is "among us"?

impostor, you can get it at shellfish desires in town. it’s a little red guy

    (edit for phrasing)

Yup - not worth fighting them, pop Imposter's smokescreen just before they shoot and run run run. You can still get the various treasures like this.

This is how I got through a lot of the game haha. That +5 attack is too good to pass up

honestly the smokescreen spell is really good even if you are trying to engage with enemies . just casting the spell makes them completely lose sight of you, and theyll attack the area they last saw you . you just have to be careufl of being hit by their stray attacks and you can attack them from behind

  • I use the thimble shell, its shell spell makes it invulnerable for 3 hits. I just roll right through them and take cover when I can.

  • Ink shell trap and squid hammer combo
