Every now and then, when I tell the dog to go to his crate for nightie-night, he looks at me like that and I immediately know that Iām sleeping with him on the couch.
My dog sleeps with us on the bed. They are pack animals. Put the crate or put a bed by the side of your bed. I bet you love sleeping on the couch with him
It's crazy to think they're still bears and could rip your hand off clean with a bite if they wanted to. In fact their bite have more PSI than that of black bears. ~1,200 vs. ~1000 PSI
They pretty much have no need for any sort of aggression, evolutionarily speaking. No natural predators, and Iām not sure they really do any hunting themselves. Literally all they do is eat bamboo.
Pandas are notoriously stubborn. Some have even learned that they get treats if they refuse certain things like going inside. So they act up even more.
There's a famous one now called SanMei who is a cheeky little panda that does everything possible to avoid going back in before she has been given enough treats.
comment got blocked for sharing youtube video. just google "Qi Sanmei" to see the cuteypie.
The panda in OPs video, is called FuBao. Shes the korean panda princess.
not stubbornness, but my favorite āpanda wants more foodā story was the one from the national zoo in dc years back who realized the pregnant panda she shared an enclosure with got fed more, so she FAKED A PREGNANCY.
Definitely a skit they do. He puts him down and rolls him the whole way when he could've easily carried him, then slowly grabs his paws, dramatically pulling them back. Then somehow the panda still escapes. But luckily the other guy was standing right there and could grab him. All while everybody is laughing. I mean it's obviously a skit, just in case anybody thought it was a real scenario I wanted to make sure i ruined their fun
I'd join you all but I'm not keen on bamboo shoots and I really like cheese. I will however come chill with you and smuggle you the bamboo shoots I'm not going to eat.
A lot goes into this job than just watching over Panda's (Or any animal) like a life guard
I watched the latest Apple serie, "Born to be Wild" (2025 release date), where they go over the people taking care of rescued animals, and there is so much dedication that goes into this (And knowledge required)
One of my childhood friends was a zookeeper assigned to care for pandas for a while. He missed one major holiday (I think Christmas, but maybe Thanksgiving? Itās been about a decadeā¦) because the female went into heat. They had to drop everything and attempt an artificial insemination. Which, yes, involves all of theā¦handlingā¦that you might imagine. As cute as pandas are, that part of the job does not appeal, lol.
The serious answer is that you have to get a degree in biology and while you are in school get an entry level job or intern program with a local zoo to get your foot in the door and get the relevant experience needed.
This meme lies. It's actually a mural from the original location of Chino Bandidos in Phoenix, AZ. The restaurant is Chinese-Mexican fusion, and a panda wearing a sombrero is their mascot. They also had a giant concrete statue of a panda wearing a sombrero.

āNo weāre just dropping the neighbor kids off I promise weāll be right back to the park!ā
Tell my gremlin little ones as their uncle who can let them down here and there with a false contract. My siblings thank me for falling on that grenade.
They have the 5th strongest bite of all mammals. They are actually carnivores, they used to hunt small animals before they evolved the digestive system to handle bamboo and leaves.
When they are young they dont have such a strong bite, so the keepers can still be around them. But once they get to 2+ year old, the keepers usually only interact through metal bars or from a distance for their own safety.
Pandas dont usually attack for no reason. They see this more as playing than being mistreated. Which they arent, they are just ushered inside so they can rest and eat bamboo laid out inside for them and the keepers can clean up the outside area.
This one is a juvenile and probably hand raised. Adult pandas (to my knowledge) don't directly interact with their keepers in Zoos. There have been a couple cases of serious injury by Panda

Could be feeding time, could be time for a checkup, could be time to clean the outdoor enclosure, could be another panda's time in the outdoor section.
That moment when the keeper's hand just appears out of nowhere is comedy gold. This panda is giving off some serious "five more minutes, mom!" energy. You can't blame it for trying to enjoy a little more freedom. Honestly, this is a whole mood for a Monday morning.

Before anyone attacks me, crate training is endorsed by numerous vets and professional dog organizations. My vet recommended it to me. I never use the crate as punishment. He goes in there throughout the day on his own. Dogs are naturally denning animals. Heās a very curious little guy who will eat anything and everything, so Iād rather him not do that.

My dog won't sleep anywhere else it's crowded but he doesn't give me an option and he's one of us.
Iām jealous, my husky woke me up at 2am so I can let him out of the house because it was cold and windy outside and he wanted to sleep by himself.
Just big ole puppies.
It's crazy to think they're still bears and could rip your hand off clean with a bite if they wanted to. In fact their bite have more PSI than that of black bears. ~1,200 vs. ~1000 PSI
Not surprising given their diet. Have you tried to bite bamboo?
Not recently.
Why not?
Bamboo? In this economy?Ā
It's better for the environment
Every gif of pandas makes it clear that they have 100% fully forgotten this fact about themselves.
they donāt have natural predators so they never knew this fact abt themselves
Good questione why they are not so aggressive especially the bigger One against the human?
Is the fact they are vegetarian?
They pretty much have no need for any sort of aggression, evolutionarily speaking. No natural predators, and Iām not sure they really do any hunting themselves. Literally all they do is eat bamboo.
Probably has to do with their diet. Bamboo doesnāt contain a lot of energy so they canāt use too much energy as they need to conserve it.

Black bears are big raccoons I can see pandas having an upper hand (uhh jaw)
Pandas are raccoons, though
Pandas are bears. Itās a common misconception that they are raccoons.
What is nice though, that there's almost 2000 panda's in the wild now.
There only used to be around ~1000 back in 2000. It seems China is doing really well saving this evolutionary dead end.
Yes, that's true for giant pandas. Red pandas, on the other hand, are raccoons.
They eat bamboo...

Grizzlies live in a very competitive environment full of other predators.

The serious answer is that you have to get a degree in biology and while you are in school get an entry level job or intern program with a local zoo to get your foot in the door and get the relevant experience needed.
You have to sleep in the cage with the panda, if you let go for a second, it sprints out the door.

Even Grizzlys eat 90-100% plants depending on their habitat

Fun fact.
Every giant panda belongs to China, even the ones living in zoos abroad.
Pandas you see outside China are there on long-term loans, usually 10ā15 years, with hefty fees that fund conservation.
Bonus fun fact, there's actually one single panda in Mexico who isn't owned by China because her parents were gifted to Mexico before the shift to loaning. Her name is Xin Xin).
