Introduction

The Poco M8 Pro is now official and positions itself as a competent mid-range contender. While it avoids headline-grabbing upgrades, it leans heavily on endurance, packing a 6,500mAh battery paired with 100W fast charging, a combination that could make it one of the stronger performers in its class.

Poco M8 Pro review

The M8 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1,280p resolution, 12-bit color depth, a 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ streaming. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

The phone carries IP66 and IP68 certifications in the EU, while markets elsewhere also receive higher IP69 and IP69K ratings.

A sense of déjà vu is hard to avoid. The Poco M8 Pro is essentially a rebadged Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with a different main camera. While the Redmi comes with a 200MP primary sensor, the Poco opts for the 50MP unit lifted from the Poco F8 Pro. The 8MP ultrawide and 32MP selfie cameras remain unchanged from the Redmi.

Nevermind the resemblance to the Redmi series, the Poco M8 Pro brings enough improvements over the Poco M7 Pro to be called a proper upgrade - better ingress protection, a larger and higher-resolution screen, more powerful hardware, better cameras, and, of course, a beefier battery with faster charging. It even supports 22.5W reverse wired charging!

It's just that we are not sure if we really needed more Redmi Note 15 offspring - there are plenty as is.
