Hi there. I'm a young queer guy from an Asian country (no, Asia isn't just China, Japan and Korea ) and I just want to know if any fellow comrades like me exist here. The conversations on this subreddit are really underrepresentative of BIPOC as much as I've seen; and hearing to our perspectives on many of the anarchist principles would give us all a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter, compared to being confined to the sole perspective of our ingroups. Thanks!
There are definitely BIPOC on this sub but mostly U.S./U.K./Canada/Australia based. This is mostly an English speaking subreddit and Reddit as a platform is overwhelmingly American.
There are some comrades from Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, the Philippines, and Sudan, who post here occasionally.
You might be interested in the Southeast Asian Anarchist Archive, r/LaSulta (Arabic anarchist literature project subreddit), and r/LibertariansOfAsia (Asian anarchist subreddit). r/anarquismo used to be really active and was the main Spanish speaking anarchist subreddit, unfortunately it got brigaded by some authoritarians and posting shut down and hasn't had any new posts in 3 years now.
Honestly im middle eastern (not the third world kind) but i still feel this. Those kinda spaces are so white/western
Southern African anarchist here! Though I moved from my home a few years ago and because I’m also queer, idk if I can ever go back unfortunately
hey! brazilian anarchist here :)
hii!!
Nigerian anarcho-communist here
Ayyy hi homegal/boy
Can we normalize calling ourselves the global south instead of third world?
Honestly, even global south is a colonial word in it's essence. How come you're telling me that Mongolia is global 'south' while Australia is global 'north'? I'd love if there existed a word decentering white people to describe African, Asian, South American & Carribean countries.
Hi, I'm an Arab from the Levant
I’m from Costa Rica, in central america. heya.
