I'm taking the 2pm ne regional from nyp to back bay and wondering how bad delays are if any?
(I'm also taking suggestions for boarding as to avoid the chaos at moynihan)
r/Amtrak is not associated with Amtrak in any official way. Any problems, concerns, complaints, etc should be directed to Amtrak through one of the official channels.
At Moynihan I either stand in the main hall and obsessively look for where the staff are setting up stanchions so I can try to get on line early or I go down and wait on the mezzanine level so that I’m closer to the tracks by the time the platform is announced.
There are Amtrak departure boards in the NJT area in the old Penn Station. Or if you prefer Moinyhan, you can take the stairs that say they go to tracks 17-21. They lead to a corridor that has some Amtrak departure boards and access to all of the tracks. You can go straight to the platform from either place without dealing with the line.
Well, Acela 2253 just ripped the wires out just outside of Backbay (around Ruggles Stations if you know the area), so the delay may be pretty long. We're sitting here with no flushable toilets or café car.
Nobody is going anywhere past route 128. We are waiting for a non electric commuter rail train. We will transfer into that and head back to Backbay/South Station.

You can use this website to track current delays! Looks like some trains are delayed a bit but others are running on time.
In particular, looks like your train is on time right now between DC and Baltimore.

You have to wait till tracks announced and get in line to go down the escalator
