I like the f40’s but I grew up with the main motive power for intercity and long haul trains being the genesis locomotives aka the p40’s and the p42’s. so my favorite will always be the genesis locomotives

It might be nostalgia/regional bias talking, but the HHP-8s, ACS-64s, AEM-7s, and Original Acelas are the GOATs for me.
F40, by far. I ran a few ex-Amtrak F40s in a previous job and they were just 🤌
