When did Australians become so soft? I swear when I was a kid I thought of Australians as the Outback Crocodile Dundee types that would have no problem with some well water.
Dude probably never leaves the city to realize what is and isn’t reality in his own country. Also relies heavily on the propaganda telling him America is bad… the problem is that anti-American propaganda is pushed out by American media outlets.
I dont really think we have much room to talk there. We do have people here in America that believe meat comes from a grocery store not from ranches or farms. The number of people that are against hunting cause it's "cruel" to nature and hunters should get their meat from the store like everyone else. Like they think it spawns there like in Minecraft or something.
I don’t deny that there are plenty of dumbasses in America, but so was referring to one particular dumbass in Australia.
Yes, I have experienced people that think hunting is cruel and is “leading to the extinction” of specific animals. Those people ignore the amount of research and effort that is placed on conservation efforts on an ongoing basis.
Yeah it's honestly surprising. Hunters are usually conservative and conservatives are typically the lesser environmentally conscientious of the two parties, but hunters are, more often than not, the exception to that. Now if only commercial fishers could be that way.
Idk man. I'm not saying that conservatives want to pave the entire world in concrete and pump sewage directly into oceans or anything, but it's always conservatives that are fighting against tighter restrictions on commercial fishing in my state. The dudes who Carolina squat their trucks and roll coal down the highway usually have Trump stickers more often than not, too.
I believe there's children who think that, but that's more of a strawman argument pushed by people from both extremes like Ted Nugent and the creators of food Inc. There ain't no tax payers that think meat doesn't come from animals, and if there are they're fuckin with ya. You learn from a pretty young age that the produce you buy at the grocery store isn't actually "made" in the store. Like how do you make it to 18 completely ignorant of the food you eat? Nobodies that sheltered.
The conversation in this post should've stopped when the guy said "first world country". Like dude once you go there we have to now correct your overall understanding of the world before we explain why Flint Michigan has fucked up water, and isn't remotely representative of a 3000 mile land mass. Like how do you not know that being on well water is virtually free as apposed to paying for city water? These "people" aren't worth the energy.
And if you read up on it, it was a local decision that created this. Flint had a safe supply from Lake Huron through the city of Detroit (I live in metro Chicago and our water comes from Lake Michigan which is technically part of the same lake as Huron, and it's excellent quality). They were building a new pipeline in collaboration with several other local communities and the local government made the decision to temporarily switch to pulling from the Flint River while the pipeline was being built (it was never intended to be permanent) because they did't want to pay for the Detroit water, and ended the contract with the city of Detroit to save money. That's when all hell broke loose because the river was known for having contaminants, wasn't properly treated, and those contaminants caused lead to leach out from the pipes causing the crisis. And they were warned about it and did it anyway. In other words, this was entirely self-inflicted by local government to save a buck.
Yeah that's an isolated (kinda) incident though caused by a technical issues and not the result of government malice. They had functional water then not then have again. This guy assumes the entire country (and I'm assuming this is their understanding of their own country) operates on one large series of pipes. One large series of pipes that are apparently a "gift" from the government that don't have their own logistical fuck ups. Like am I even doing a good job understanding what it is they're even saying? I don't know man I feel like I come across pretty temperate on reddit I can't imagine having this conversation on fucking Facebook I would've stopped bothering pretty early on.
Australia's a country where >50% of the population live in three coastal cities and 70% in the top 12. They have literally one town in the entire interior with >20,000 people and barely so, in a country the size of the continental US. Their city folk who make up the lion's share of their SM users probably have no idea that people in rural areas have these things called "wells". I had a couple acres when I lived in Texas BTW and I had a well with spigots and which was connected to my irrigation system and the house was on city water, so some people have both.
I just wish these people knew what first, second, and third world means. They spam the term "third world country" without actually understanding what that means.
No, the only reason you have to is because your government doesnit care enough about you. I hope this helps
Imagine being unable to imagine that someone might want to do something themselves instead of expecting Daddy State to do it, or there might be many reason for the government not to do something other than "they don't care".
Imagine acting like one of the worst stereotypes of non-Yank first-worlders.
The only way to be more of a cliche would be shoehorning in school shootings.
every survey, every stat says america doesn't have clean drinking water?
Reminder that 90% of Australians live in urban centers and probably have never seen much beyond that.
It's like someone that has never left Brooklyn commenting on what farms in West Virginia is supposed to be like. They're the type to think that power comes from the outlet, water comes from the tap, and food comes from the store.

Acting like we don't use well or bore water on rural farms.

We don't it's used extensively on farms.

Oh I know. Its oddly comforting knowing we're not the only people who have to deal with this level of stupidity.
And how much hunters support conservation so they and future generations have something to hunt.
Yeah it's honestly surprising. Hunters are usually conservative and conservatives are typically the lesser environmentally conscientious of the two parties, but hunters are, more often than not, the exception to that. Now if only commercial fishers could be that way.
Conservatives are the “lesser environmentally conscientious”?
I don’t believe that to be true, conservatives just don’t make the environment their entire personality and use environmentalism to virtue signal.

Fighting against tighter restrictions ≠Not environmentally friendly.
I think everyone universally hates the guys who Carolina squat their trucks and roll coal. They’re usually children.
"Those people" also own cats -- or at least think they do but never shut their fucking doors.

>before we explain why Flint Michigan has fucked up water,
Had.
And in that case, it was the government's error.
By that guy's logic, the Flint government left the water messed up because they didn't care if they were a national scandal for years.
And if you read up on it, it was a local decision that created this. 1996
"could you show me those surveys and studies that say the US doesn't have clean drinking water?"
"No. Why would I do that? Just look it up"
"Yeah I just thought it was odd that all I could find saying this was from unsourced reddit schizo rants calling for a genocide against americans"
"If you really cared, you'd find it yourself!"
"And yet you don't care enough to prove your own case."
I've noticed that if I say "Okay, I'm done, I'm leaving.", that's often when the other guy suddenly provides sources.
They made the claim, it's their onus to provide proof
They’re always from somewhere better but they never want to tell us where that place is.

I have both. The well is used for irrigation and city water is for the house and for drinking water.
No way dude literally showed him a picture of practically sparkling sink water and he just passed it off
Genuinely can't get enough of this ignorant dumbass
I just wish these people knew what first, second, and third world means. They spam the term "third world country" without actually understanding what that means.
6% of Australians use well water

Even Flint, MI cleaned up their water years ago.

Cope fiesta for Aus-tards and Amerihaters. My state’s GDP is that of nations.
