Happy holidays!
We will be taking another holiday break this year, much like we did the last two years. Like many of you, we'd like to enjoy some family time and focus on the assholes in our own families for a bit (we all have that one uncle...)! In the past, the break has been well-received by many users, and we appreciate the support and understanding.
The break will be from 12:00 AM EST December 24 - January 1, with the sub reopening at 12:00 AM EST January 2, 2026. In the mean time, feel free to drop a comment below if you have any holiday-themed notes you'd like to share.
Lastly, if you'd like to see our post to raise awareness for colon cancer, please click here.
As always, do not directly link to posts/comments or post uncensored screenshots here. Any comments with links will be removed.
We'd like to highlight the regional spinoffs we have linked on the sidebar! If you have any suggestions or additions to this, please let us know in the comments.
Yes, of course you deserve a break, but do you realize the Backlog of "aita for disagreeing with family at holiday dinner posts" we will All be bombarded with 😄😆😄 Couldn't resist, enjoy the break!
Was the guy in Canada making pizza for his girlfriend’s parents while she went out with friends removed for being fictional?
I was lowkey invested in that situation. Pretty sure that was this sub, where in the middle of reading it, there was a message that the original post had been removed by mods.
The guy who threw the pizza in the trash? Was it removed? I liked that one.Â
Yeah I couldn’t find it again
I can't find it in our logs, so I don't think we removed it. Admins have a hair pin trigger lately and I see posts get removed without any apparent reason a lot more often these days.
A lot of it is ai
It's adorable you think admins care. Mods try, admins just like content.

Yep
Hi, I have a question. I recently disagreed with a user in a discussion post and I got a private message from them that was insulting and wished malice on me (not going to use the exact words on this comment). I have reported this message to Reddit, but should I also reach out to one of the mods on this subreddit via modmail?
I never read PMs. Makes life easier.
Good question - there's no need to loop us in.
As mods our visibility is pretty much limited to this sub, and the post histories of people who interact here. We can't see PMs. We also can't take screenshots at face value since those are so easy to manipulate. So that's ultimately admin territory. You're not going to get as... idk, visible of a response as you see from most mod teams, but they do deal with that stuff.
Thank you!
Of course - appreciate you asking! I'm sure it's good info for others.
I forgot how unforgiving this sub (or Reddit maybe) is. I made a comment on a post with reasoning behind my judgement. I am fine with being considered wrong. I don't even care about the down votes but the sarcasm and tbh what felt like aggressive responses were unnecessary. what's wrong with just saying why you think I'm wrong (I'd likely agree as usually something I hadn't thought of)? people bringing gender roles into it for no reason and ignoring half my comment...just makes it difficult to want to engage with this sub (and again possibly Reddit).
I fully agree with you. I feel so disheartened because of people on Reddit. Real world is judgement enough.
Will this just disable posting/interacting, or will the whole sub go completely dark for that time period?
The sub will go private for that period.
Does that mean we would still be able to see posts if we're members of the community? Sorry, I'm newish to reddit.
Nothing should be visible during this time.
Thanks for the clarification.
