I bought a badminton racket on aliexpress and my son doesn’t want it anymore so I selected the return reason as no longer needed and the seller is trying to to justify that because I asked questions about it how can I no longer want it and it’s been two days and aliexpress still hasn’t stepped in and the seller sent me this today, will I get my refund?

  • That's morally not really good and personally I think a child should understand that he cannot just undo anything he does and change his mind whenever he wants without consequences...

This is my personal opinion, I do not know how you raise your child and I don't want to know.

People dont remember anymore how life was before amazon, when u went to the store bought something and unless it had defects it was just yours no returns unless completely unused and in original packaging

  • Okay so here is the thing, I don't defend aliexpress at all. But they aren't amazon either, the shipments travel way across for much more people. As far I know getting a package, confirming then refunding as I don't want is not even possible. (unless you cancelled it before even shopped out) Aliexpress sucks ass when it comes to that, I even had some lost in shipment items that took me over a month to get a refund for. And I didn't even accept the package, and had an official document saying it arrived empty like that. Someone stole it.

So when you buy something in aliexpress make sure you are aware you most likely won't be bale to change your mind after the shipment got sent.

At least that's the case where we are maybe in the US it's different. But I doubt it. (And yes it's in the rules, customer rights blah blah but aliexpress ignores them heavily.)

I don’t know what aliexpress is like for you but in the UK your order comes in a week if the item has choice and you can return the item immediately if you don’t like it and they will give you a qr code you can scan at your local post office to send the item back and they will give you a refund no questions asks

They will for a few times but if you are a serial returner they will stop doing that

My buys out weigh my returns

60/40 buy / return is still not good hahahah

    Nah it’s like 80/20

Woah i was kinda joking but like anything below 95% would be considered terrible

Nah I’m still a valued customer they always give me early refunds

If that was the case you wouldnt be posting this

No I’m posting this because I always by choice items and the one time I don’t they don’t respond and the seller send me a message

  • Best outcome - AliExpress will ask you to return it back to the seller at your own expense

  • Kind of bad form to order an item, then decide you dont want it. Returns are more for if the item is not as described, it arrives broken, or doesnt come at all.

Yeah I agree. It's his right to, but it's also a bit wack. He's spoiling his kid.

Among all the scammers on AliExpress you found on that sell you the thing, maybe needs this money so bad and yet you decide you don't want it anymore

  • Haha, treating Aliexpress as if its a fucking Walmart return. Get real.

  • Don’t order Ali express anymore . Stick to Amazon they are more suited for your needs

  • Buy off amazon if you want no quibble returns. Use some common sense it's come all the way from China

It was only sold on aliexpress it’s out of stock everywhere

Aliexpress has a dedicated "Return and Refund Policy" page where they describe everything. Their wording in the first paragraph suggests that one could just return without problem, so that's presumably why the OP thinks it's an Amazon-like experience.

  • Was there anything wrong with the item?

It was the wrong model and I didn’t check that but it’s because of the weight difference of the racket

  • I feel like something is missing here. Has your son used the item? The seller normally won't have a issue if you return the package in a resellable condition, provided you pay the shipping to China.

  • How much does the racket cost?

  • I just want to clarify that you can return an item and put the reason as “no longer needed” or “bought by mistake”

Are you prepared to pay for the return shipping to China?

I don't think the seller will be forced to cover the return shipping cost, this isn't Amazon.

Unfortunately however sad this sounds this isn’t my issue why should they sell on aliexpress knowing there’s a 90 day return guarantee

That doesn't mean free return shipping.

It would only be free shipping if the item was defective. You are returning because you purchased the wrong item.

See what AliExpress tells you, but if they tell you that you have to cover the return shipping then it probably be better for you to resell it locally on Marketplace to recoup some money.

I put the return reason as bought by mistake which is allowed and I have returned many choice items like this before or for no longer needing them and I have gotten an instant refund no hassle

So why are you on Reddit asking if you will get a refund ? Just do what you ALWAYS do and get your refund . Be prepared for the seller to dispute and get black listed to where you can’t order anymore. Thats what comes with these “I changed my mind” type of returns

Yep will make sure to do because this is in aliexpress own return policy

You need to read the return policy , the item needs to be unused and returned in the condition it was received in . If the seller wants to dispute that’s a whole different ball game . Good luck and start shopping Amazon
